mmm this is a bit tough, i have decently low expectations on some things, as i know what i like and dont like

however, for discussions sake:

-Socom confrontation, i played the first 3 like it was no ones business, i dont think as a kid i put more time into any game/series as much as those, and when i finally got a ps3 this past year i had heard of the game on the ps3 and i was so bloody damn excited to play it again i swear i popped a boner putting in the game into the ps3 for the first time.

-poppped it in, only to find out there is no single player.
*fine.whatever, i played multiplayer mostly anyways*
-joins match, realizes how shitty the game movement and controls had become
*fuck.well maybe it gets better, i just got to get used to it*
-plays game for literally 16 hours straight.
*fuck this game. this is fucking garbage, the originals are fucking amazing! wtf!*

yeah i immediately took the game back and sold it, i was so pissed off on how poorly implemented it was. socom 4 is coming out this next year, and this one is by zipper, it looks not too shabby...but literally, if they just redid the graphics and put the old games on the ps3, i'd spend easily 150-200 dollars in a heartbeat to have those games. i miss them so freaking much.

besides that i haven't been disappointed too much..there was mw2 but gonna avoid that rage and complete bullshit of a sequel.
I hear you. SOCOM was awesome on the PS2. I remember downing tangos with Boomer for hours.

Ahh memories.....

Oblivion. But we need not get into that.

Fallout 3 really redeemed Bethesda in my eyes, and they're still my favorite developer. Hopefully Skyrim can bring back the magic(ka).

holy shit. there is actually someone on here who has played that game and liked it as much as i did.

seriously, that game had it all right for a ps2 game

-muting
-booting annoying people/cheaters
- the legendary "GRENADAAAAA!" war cry from terrorists
-maps that actually made sense and could be used strategically
-clans/clan control that actually works well in games
-custom games actually counted toward your rank (i hated playing in regular games with the 2-3 shitty maps consistently popping up)
-and personally, i think it had the perfect ratio for camouflage, you could blend in if you did it just right in certain areas, but if you were moving around and such your ass was easier to spot than godzilla in a barren town.

I have yet to find a shooter like socom these days that gets all these things right, AND is fun to play.

...the same goes for the Ratchet & Clank games.
What's wrong with the recent Ratchet and Clank games? Besides not being as good as the PS2 games?
I just feel that everything went downhill after the three original games.

Activision.

Way to ruin one of my most favorite franchises Call of Duty, and pretty much kill Infinity Ward.

The continued dumbing down of gaming, and release of steadily more shovelware a la CoD & Halo & more.

Blizzard plaguarising games workshop (More) and releasing subpar games. Monster Hunter Portable 3 not coming to north america.

That about does it.

Waiting for more than half a decade to play the latest PC installment of Aliens Vs. Predator -- only to realize that it is complete garbage.
Amen to that!

I think rebellion studios had to close down their branch in England somewhere, YOU GUYS DESERVED IT!

But my "biggest" disappointment was dragon age origins, I thought it would have great gameplay on pc, didn't care for the story which is just the same old bioware story used over and over again.

"gather x amount of allies to battle this threat at the end of the game"

EVERY BIOWARE GAME TODAY!
Except the oldies, never played them.

for me, I'd have to say the biggest dissapointment for me was...

Fable 2, oh yes.

See I loved Fable 1, I had it on the PC, it was one of my favourite games, I was SUPER excited about fable 2... until they told me it was going to be an xbox exclusive title. Bam, a hardcore fan of the franchise completely burned because I chose the wrong console and prefer the pc, see the ruined emotional connection there, Molyneux, you fuck?

Life...nah, Sonic Riders should have never been a thought.
Respectfully, I disagree. I actually thought Sonic Riders was a pretty good game, if not a little frustrating at times. I gave it a 7.5, kind of a C+ sorta grade.

Oh, I forgot one more: Jak and Daxter The Lost Frontier. I had so many hopes that that game would bring more Jak and Daxter games, but sadly, no. And while on the note of the Jaak games, I thought Jak X was FUN. Yes, I'm actually saying I like that game. The story wasn't anything special. But I'm okay with a bad story so long as the gameplay is good, and it was great.

Valve saying it had three big announcements coming this year, and not ONE of them being Half Life 3. (No, I don't mean Episode 3. Don't quote me) I have officially given up hope for this series.
Have all the suprises been told? I thought that Dota 2 was the only one yet... Wich are the other ones??
Yeah, that's the other thing! I have no idea what the other two are. If they're going to make any more "big announcements" they're kinda running out of time here.
