Subpar games from Blizzard? Wut?
Starcraft 2, and the violation of the gaming hobby you know as world of warcraft.

They also made that crappy little lost vikings game. But it wasn't from this decade so I can't count it.

Have a few of them actually.

Mass Effect 1 - Story was all right but the game felt tedious and boring (liked the second one much better....probably playing that one on the PC helped a bunch)

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Yay a sequel to final fantasy tactics (2 hours of cut scenes later) JUDGES WTF!!!

Final Fantasy War Of The Lions - Yay Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP with multiplayer, extra missions and a retranslated script (which I seem to be the only one who likes it)...except the game is a poorly done port that stutters and has horrid sound.

The halo series - More in retrospect for me, as I played the second one first, but it none of the games after the first are really any good, the second one was a teasing whore, the entire add campaign was built around the premise that it would be on earth and 3/4ths of the game is in space and half the time your playing some nameless alien you don't even know (I demand to play as some nameless marine in a spacesuit, at least he had better one liners), and three was just meh, not as bad as 2 but not great.

The Dark Knight Strikes Again - Actually this shouldn't be a surprise considering, but it's still a disappointment.

The Watchmen Movie - I just didn't like it.

Glen Beck - Your supposed to be the modern version of McCarthy not some christian heal the world/save our country weirdo thats half as hilarious.

Samurai X: Reflection - Disappointment doesn't begin to describe my thoughts on this one....but it's the closest thing to it.

Resident Evil 5 - Yahtzee said it best on this one "the game I loved is in here but the creative spark has run out", albeit it was still fun to play (for me anyways).

Slipknot - A band with 8 members (9 until the passing of their bassist, I believe) sounds like the have 4...oh and contrary to popular belief, aren't very good live (least when I saw them)

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - I liked the first one (no really), it was a big stupid action movie that was enjoyable, this one is a big stupid action movie that was very un-enjoyable.

High School - Quite overrated thus far

No More Heroes - Enh, it was good, it just wasn't the amazing mindblowing game everyone was making it out to be

Half Life 2 and all it's Parts.

I played the original and loved it. Even played Blue Shift and Opposing Force and loved them. So I was really excited about finally getting a 360 and The Orange Box. Then I actually played Half Life 2, and all I got was a bunch of people fanboying over Gordon Freeman with the occasional break to shoot something. Yeah, Alyx is cool, but goddamn if I don't hate that game.

Honorable mention goes to Psychonauts.

Non-gaming: TWO TERMS of George W. Bush.

Gaming: Nickel-and-diming gamers to death with pointless DLC. Bethesda got the ball rolling with Oblivion's horse armor, and it all went downhill from there. I don't mind DLC as long as it provides lots of content for a decent price (Borderlands is a good example of this), but too often it's overpriced (Call of Duty/Halo map packs) or content that should have been included in the first place.

Dante's Inferno.
I read about the game in a friends game magazine and thought it look really, really awesome. This was over a year before it was released and I waited an extra year or so before getting it since I never buy games at full price.
Needless to say the game was pretty awful, short and a bad rip off with horrible voice acting(Dante).

Final Fantasy XIII
I didn't have much hope for this game considering X-2 and XII, but I still got it at the release date from a website that sold it pretty cheaply. It only took me a few minutes of play time to realise that the game was rather bad and it just got worse.
It entertained me for a few days but I was more frustrated and irritated at the game than enjoying it.

I'll give the honorary mention to spore, but the real one goes to Fable 1.

I still remember reading about "Project Ego" (fables codename that Molyneux talked about) in an old Xbox magazine I picked up on a whim one day, it was just such an amazing world he talked about. I got an Xbox just to play that and Panzer Dragoon Orta. When it came out and it was just another frackin' rpg... God, I was disgusted. The series still isn't 5% of what he talked up the original to be.

edit: Xbox Nation! that was the name of the magazine.
I think your mistake on both was listening to the bullshit, Peter's really good at hooking people in on that one too as I understand it.

I waited 3 or so years for Spore and when I finally got to play it... it was 5 mini games, the only of which may have exceeded the game it was based on being the cell stage. Don't get me wrong, I think that the editor is fantastic, but it didn't mean much for the gameplay and after such anticipation it was just an excruciating disappointment to play through. (Actually it was nice for about 10 minutes during each minigame due to novelty, excluding cell-stage pacman which is still quite enjoyable on occasion)

Hellgate: London - How the FUCK is this not top of the list?!

Spore - Gotta admit, this was a big letdown.

Fable 3 - Killed it. Absolutely killed it. Guaranteed I will NEVER be buying another lionhead game.

Amy Henning leaving Eidos, thus destroying any hope of a Legacy of Kain 6.

Valve saying it had three big announcements coming this year, and not ONE of them being Half Life 3. (No, I don't mean Episode 3. Don't quote me) I have officially given up hope for this series.
Have all the suprises been told? I thought that Dota 2 was the only one yet... Wich are the other ones??
Yeah, that's the other thing! I have no idea what the other two are. If they're going to make any more "big announcements" they're kinda running out of time here.
Valve said it would announce 3 big things in the next year. Not this one.

I'd have to say Star Trek Online was my biggest disappointment this decade. Never have I seen such mediocrity from people who claimed to love something so much.
