GTA IV, Gears of War 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Red Alert 3, and Mirror's Edge. Oh, and Fable 2.
Now why was MGS4 a disappointment? That game was fantastic! and also, Mirror's Edge really isn't that bad. I bought it and, i mean, it's not the greatest game, and it does get frustrating at times, but it was a relaxing/exciting (i don't think exciting is the right word to use) game that kept you playing the whole time.

Because it was filled with cliché after cliché, the previous games were miles better, the gameplay didn't suit MGS, it felt more like "Old man crouches around the battlefield and shoots things" than Tactical Espionage Action. Couple that with the incredibly tedious cutscenes, and it became little more than a wrap-up of the previous games. It was good, but nothing special like the other MGS console titles. Disappointing.

As for Mirror's Edge, I found it very...samey. It's a nice game, but it had so much promise. The combat and the flow of the game were spot on, but it should have been longer, more interesting and some variation.

Spore and Banjo "threeie" (I don't mean that the game was bad. I'm just dissapointed that it wasn't a platformer.)

* BioShock - While i was wide-eyed and all goo-goo during the first hour or so of the game, I finished it in 2 sittings and was bitterly dissapointed by the ending/ending(s) after i youtubed the alternate ending while going "WTF" to my mate who sat through in an attempt to enjoy the game alongside me.

* Fallout 3 - Heard great things + massively hyped up in my circles, my friend bought it and we instantly rushed home to install and play but within emerging into the 'world' I had "oblivion clone" burnt into my brain. (perhaps oblivion's fault). Eventually had no interest to finish the main story after becoming braindead from all the side-quests and using VAT to blow of limbs gets old fast.

* Spore - no comment needed here really.

Virtually every game here meets the criteria for disappointment - but one that really disappointed me was Condemned 2: Bloodshot. It was the most remarkable departure from an original in recent memory, and had the stupidest plot changes since the nuked fridge/CGI monkeys invasion. I want to be using a piece of rebar to crack a junkie's jawbone, not using sonic abilities against a death cult!

Speaking of Sonic, you can't tell me anyone expected anything else out of it unless they still think they need to clap or Tinkerbell dies. If only not clapping could have killed off Navi.

Runners up to Condemned 2, I'm gonna go with GTA IV for continuing the addition of Sims-style realism (as the girlfriend mini-games of San Andreas started) to the detriment of amoral mayhem and Mirror's Edge for botching an opportunity to do the right thing.

Too Human! Fourteen years in the works, and it had nothing to stand on. Story, graphics, game-play, soundtrack - all to present nothing new
After Daikatana, I think there should really be a time limit set on game developments - there's a certain point after which nothing you make will be good, hence why Duke Nukem Forever is dead to me.

I actuall found GTA 4 exceeded my expectations. I thought I was going to despise it but I mainly just disliked it. It did start off fun. Just lost it's charm after a few hours.
