It will be revealed that sticking Halo on the box doesn't make a console RTS anything less than a gigantic waste of time for everyone involved.
They're making console RPGs suck less more and more as they do it. (Admittedly, it's hard)

The battle for Middle Earth II wasn't all that bad, and the voice command in Tom Clancy works pretty well.

Yeah, might be StarCraft 2. But I still have hope.
Thats clearly going to happen, one of the best RTS's with nostalga?!
Now that's a hard act to follow.
That's certainly true, and I read somewhere that one of the Blizzard guys said he wanted to make StarCraft 2 a game that his mother could play, which makes me very worried... But like I said, I still have hope. You never know. But yeah, it will probably be another DOOM 3.

I'll jump in with the obvious 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, which I think is slated for 2009. I could be wrong, and if so I'll just tuck that away for the 'Big disappointments of 2010' thread.
But wait, don't you have to expect it to be any good at all for it to disappoint you? :p
I'm gunna go with Half Life 2: Episode 3, mostly because hopes are so epically high for that game that they could make a great game and still fall far short of what we're expecting.

The biggest disapointment of '09 will be NMH2 not releasing until '10.

Other than that it'll probably be Heavy Rain - destined to be all show and no go.

Everything starring a mute or super-tough uber-soldier as protagonist. I'm so damn tired of them!

starcraft 2 just wont live up to its predicessor
What is concerning to me as a former StarCraft enthusiast is that Starcraft 2 will be actually split up into 3 games [http://pc.ign.com/articles/918/918895p1.html], and all of them will have full MSRB price probably - if not even more just because Blizzard CAN charge $50 or $60 for each game. (You heard it here first at The Escapist)

Not only do you need to buy 3 games to have access to all races, you also need to pay actual money to play the game online not much unlike Xbox Live.

Living up to its predecessor or not - the marketing revolving Starcraft II is just vomit inducing for PC gamers. I mean it's one thing that we're getting litterally fucked over by the console industry with crappy ports followed by another crappy port followed by a terrible port. It's another thing when something we are used to being free for the past 30 years is now being charged money for.
Oh wait, I forgot, MicroSoft already started with Games for Windows Live almost 2 years ago charging people to play games online.

Ugh... This is making me sick
This is so extremely wrong (im member of one of the biggest german starcraft fansites)

its not split, in the 1st game there are all races, the other two ones are just expansions
but you can only play the terran campaign with the initial release, you need the other releases for the other campaings

and also b.net 2.0 is free, they were just thinking about mciropayments, like for a bigger friendlist, custom avatars etc.

Saw: The Videogame.
I love the Saw movies, and of course most movie games suck, and this is going to be a multiplatform game that will be coming out late October 2009.
I just don't quite understand what the gameplay would be like, so I wouldn't mind checking it out, but I just know it's going to be a disappoint; I hope they prove me wrong.

Diablo 3 ... it'll get all complicated and MMORPG-like. It was always the solo-music in background, kill 3 hour game, rather than a commitment.
Don't think it will be a market failure. People will buy it before they realise is sucks. It looks a bit like Hellgate in terms of complicated MMORPG rubbish, where's Flagship studies and NamcoBandai now? Oh yeah, EPIC FAIL.

mad world, i the game won't sell well, but still be a good game, making it a disappointment.
I think it will sell, but will be extreme trash.
Just because mindless goregrind with nothing new is on every other console, i dont need that on the wii (manhunt doesnt exist, manhunt doesnt exist, manhunt doesnt exist, manhunt...)

the new HALO game looks like it will dissapoint me, there is no reason to make a new expansion for a game that was so so for there last 2 games.
