To be fair, aside from Jessie, Tulip, Arseface and that Voodoo guy, almost everyone in that universe was a total dick.

"Dang martian Niggers!"

ah damn! how could I forget? Jody was a phsychpathic douche...but he was just a douche by default

actually I think the saint of killers takes the cake

and then theres Featherstone whos pretty nice for somone who works for an evil conspiracy organisation....Herr Starr was a dick but he was a lovable dick

I'm still yet to read the last paperback (Alamo)

but I really like the charachter Cassidy

[spoiler/] I mean they take that "whacky quirky charachter" and actually go into the consequences of somone like that, (I think the voodoo guy said) he has no concept of how his actions affect others, since he's imortal there are no consequences, he just moves from one fuck up to the next...leaving alot of hurt people in his wake

though I still don't think he actually means to be like that...so far anyway (again gotta read the last book) [/spoiler]

Probably the character Brad Pitt portrayed in Inglorious Basterds. He really made me hate the movie more than even I think it was deserved hating.

So many characters in Harry Turtledoves Darkness series are douches that it would take far to long to list them.

However Turtledove writes wonderful characters. Some of the worst monsters and biggest douches in the first half of the series end up being the ones you mourn the most as the book begins to end and pick them off. Even the Hitler Expy (the book is a blow by blow setting transplant of WWII) though not a viewpoint character is oddly sympathetic in the end.

Dallas Genoard from Baccano. Although to be fair, that's his main role in the story(that and getting beaten up by just about every character).

Captain Hammer from Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, this guy is such a douche that he's even an asshole when he's helping the homeless by saying he's better than them just, in song form no less.

To me that would be Joffrey Baratheon from Game of Throne for obvious reasons
This guy. He's probably the only character in the novels who doesn't have a single redeeming feature
Ramsay Bolton would like to have a word with you, sir.

I have only read the first three books...I agree with you already.

OT: The nobodies from KH2.
evil dude: "How much do you want her back?"
(Main character goes down to his knees and begs one of his worst enemies)
evil dude:"I see. In that case...the answer is no."

Yeah Cassidy is a great character, the way his arc pans out is perfectly done, Alamo ends the series excellently, just started re-reading it myself actually, one of my favourite stories. Personally that guy with the Meat in Salvation still haunts me to this day.

Yeah, while Joffery might not have any redeeming features, there's at least some kind of explanation for why he is the way he is (being brought up by Cersei, and *SPOILER* the whole inbred thing. *SPOILER*)

Joffrey in Game of Thrones?

Senator Kinsey in Stargate SG1?

It's hard to choose...at least Joffrey could probably claim genetic insanity as an explanation for his actions...

I'm not sure if your 'fiction' covers TV characters or just literary ones, but Kinsey always stuck in my craw as a severely unpleasant character...

The owl from Ocarina of Time.

Would you like to hear this useless information that you already know or don't care about again?

NO. GOD. DAMN. NO.

A close second is Ashley Williams from Mass Effect. I always kill her when I play the first game. What a misoxenist.
