Morrowwind

I got the complete set with all the expansion sets and was ready to explore the world everyone was talking about.
Sorry guys, after 30 minutes in the swamp and a ride on some insect to the next town, i decided to put the game away.

Also the Fallout collection and the Thief collection.

The best part is, on the box (at the Thief collection) it anounces : Full playable with WinXP.
And then the games does not run on multicore processors.

Now i see why the company went downhill.
Yes, i know, WinXP came out some years before multicore processors became standart, but the collection was released in 2009 !

Final Fantasy X (Something just did not click like the others had before it
I've always called it "Final Fantasy: Sailor Moon". I have yet to finish it, especially since I don't think I'm getting the 100% ending. And when did FF games have multiple endings? Especially ones that depended on a completion percentage? Fuck you Square! (Not yet SquareEnix at the time).
are you talking about final fantasy x or final fantasy x-2? final fantasy x-2 was such an embarrassment. i got about halfway through before i couldnt take it anymore
Hey man X was bad but at least it wasn't as bad as XI i imported that game back in the day when it came out and holy crap, has to be the worst of the FF"s like its okay but the first 10 hours are some of the most boring moments in gaming I've ever had. English version was no better either. X was bad but at least it had Auron and it was exciting! things happened in the first 2 hours. Oh the bad memories of 6 coming back....

OP: probably beyond good and evil or Shadow of the colossus, just wow, so over hyped and so bad. Dont mean to say there bad games but for me and in my opinion just wow.... don't even deserve a fraction of the praise they get.

Sorry guys, my vote's on Fallout: New Vegas. I was skeptical about Fallout 3, but ended up enjoying what it did. The only thing it did wrong was calling itself a sequel; it was more of a reboot to the series than a sequel.

So, after many hours of enjoyment on F3, I bought NV at the midnight release. I took it home. I slid it in. I started it up. I started up a character with great perception (I'm a total gunslinger) and 9 intelligence, as always. I went over to the saloon to start the tutorial. I talked to Sunny, and got my complimentary, welcome-to-the-wasteland varmint rifle. I went to sneak up on the geckos. And it crashed.

It f***ing CRASHED on the TUTORIAL.

Figuring it was a little glitch, I restarted the game, and proceeded on. After all, a glitch like that had to be one in a million, for the game testers not to have caught it. How many glitches could a new game have, in this day an age?
Obsidians writing is fantastic, unfortunately they have no idea how to program a game.

It's a real shame because so many people will be in the same boat as you, and will have missed out an a great world with great characters.

Lets all gather around and play a game of Guess what Ulty is going to say.

Your choices are : A.Wild Arms 4
B.Wild Arms 4
C.Wild Arms 4 or
D.Persona 4

E.everything but D. I could write a thesis paper on why I hate this game from it's broken game play to it's war is hell melodrama to it's completely unlikable main character. It singlehandedly train wrecks a decent series in one fell 20-30 swoop. I've said a bit about it in other threads about gaming hates and disappointments,so look there. Also to end on a happy note go play Persona 4 if you haven't and see how a good sequel is done

I'd probably say Minecraft, but that's not that the game is bad as much as it is not being my thing.

If it comes to a game being bad, I suppose I'd say Modern Warfare 2. I loved Call of Duty 2 and Modern Warfare, and somehow my favorite fps series got turned into that. I'm not even sure that the game is even BAD, it's just totally uncharacteristic of what I liked about the two previously mentioned entries.

Heavy Rain. But not the first time I played it. The first time I played it I loved it. Instant favourite of mine. However, every time I play it again I begin to hate it more and more. While the last third is still fantastic there is so much about the beginning which sucks. Some awful writing. Bad voice acting in places. Incredibly slow in places (and I usually like very slow paced things). Completely nonsensical moments. A very forced romance.

I think the game would have worked better as a shorter, downloadable title and with a much better script writer.

For me it has to be Portal, "The Cake Is A Lie" the ammount of times ive herd that phrase is unreal... it made me hate the game... almost.

Call of Duty games were so dissapointing in every way.

Also Metroid Other M was a big offender, What they did to Samus was so stupid.. fuck you Team Ninja.

Lost Planet 2. I was led to believe there was a solid single-player campaign. Maybe my standards are too high, I don't know, but that was not a solid single player campaign. i didn't know who I was playing or what faction I was with half the time. Combat was nice, but I'm one of those snobs who likes a bit of story to go along with my combat XD.

And in a surprising twist, I though I had been let down by Red Dead Redemption, so I traded it in. And then I realized it was actually a solid game with great story and combat and re-bought it lol. Except for cougars. Oh god the cougars.

All these people hating on Dragon Age 2, damn you all. But anyway, biggest disappointment for me was EVE online. I loved freelancer and homeworld and I thought this would be a combination of those two games times a million but NO its a corporate run snail paced mining frenzy. Oh and second place goes to Halo 2 because GRRRHGH I really liked Halo, Halo3 came back to save the day but Wars, ODST, and the Reach singleplayer came around so GRRHHGRHRGHHHRGGRHRHHHRGRGRH

Maybe because I didn't keep up with much of the pre-release info and footage of Spore is the reason why I actually did enjoy it. I was much younger at the time and was not an avid PC gamer by any stretch of the imagination, so the simplicity and one-dimensional gameplay did not bother me much. Interestingly enough, while many complain about the creature creator not being good enough, I payed little attention to that, for I was having fun designing and downloading starships.

One big disappointment to be was The Force Unleashed 1. Me, being a HUUUGE tech geek, the awesome AI and destruction physics made me salivate. However, it was not a focus of the game, for it was VERY linear (more noticeable in this game than far many others.) Perhaps it was the omnipresent minimap that made me aware of this, but...
Another problem was that the game did not have the "physical impact" that it promised. I felt no physical force behind a force push (especially stupid force-immune enemies), and never felt the bone-crushing force of a stormtrooper being flung into a steel wall. The tech was impressive, but lacking compelling link and flow with the gameplay mechanics and controls.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age.
Amazing, that was the first title I thought of as well. I bought as my first real independent gaming purchase as a kid, and I hated it from the second it began. Then it decided to glitch and always remain on the loading screen (I gave up after 2 hours waiting) and I took it as an excuse to go and exchange it for something else. It might have just frozen and worked fine, but thank god it did, or I'd been stuck with it forever.

Thief: Deadly Shadows. Now, in hindsight I was just acting on irrational anti-console fanboyism. There were a lot of good things about that game, and its very much worth playing despite its flaws. But at the time it made me furious that they consolized a series that I did and do consider about the best in gaming history. I never even finished it at the time. Oh to be 17 and full of strong, ridiculous opinions again...
I agree. I loved DS (it was my first Thief game) and I never truly understood the outright hostility it received from fans of the series. It's still a wonderful game on its own.

I'll nominate Grand Theft Auto 4 to the list. I was so looking forward to the game, and got it from my sister as a birthday present. Spent around 4 hours on it, and have never picked it up again. It's just awful, horribly gritty and realistic, and there's way too many controls to remember. Now it just sits there gathering dust. I might trade it in one day for something else.

Haven't had the heart to tell my sister she wasted her money.
