for me its l4d2. the first game was brilliant, I must of spent over 100 hours playing versus mode. The second game the versus mode seemes rushed. There was no real points for the infected to attack. The feel of the game itself was changed. You now felt detached from the game (proberly due to the consoles) and the characters sucked. Too many infected to attack properly. meh it ruined versus mode, and ruined the game for me.

and also halo 2. i dont think i need to explaine why.

Aww man, i stumbled upon this :)
My biggest letdown is......*waiting for it*......Gothic 3.
I'm a really great RPG fan.Not really hardcore but I do like diversity in a RPG game, that's what usually draws me into it.Nwn Epic story and game for it's time, played all the addons too.
Would like to play Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. Also I tried to play Diablo but it's too hack'n'slashy for me. I can't even stand playing Torchlight because you just grind and grind and grind and grind and grind and grind and grind.
But Rpg's like Gothic and Nwn I love.
Gothic 1 left me craving for the second one, to see the continuation of the story, great combat sistem, spell sistem, etc, then came Gothic 2.
Now that just blew my mind, you could play a whole new map and a preety large part of the valley of mines.
But then came ..Gothic 3 and all my hopes for a great game went down the drain.
You can basically beat every monster on the map from the first level if you click fast enough.
Not to mention get killed by a boar near the end game.
Where did the balanced and hard to acomodate combat sistem go to?
That sole thing dragged the game to the firery pits of hell

Bioshock

Seriously, that game is a pile of crap compared to all the hype and praise it was getting.

Haze.
It was made by Free Radical. How the hell do you go from making the awesome that is TimeSplitters, to fucking up so badly that you bankrupt yourself?

At the moment, probably Dragon Age for the PS3. Graphics weren't up to what I was expecting, and it even experienced slowdown. When I buy a game for a console, I expect it to run on that console.

However, I expect my biggest disappointment to be Lost Planet 2 when I buy that. Despite all the mediocre reviews, I can't imagine it being a bad game, but the harsh weight of reality may come crashing down when I actually play it.

I will buy it regardless, however, because I loved RE4, RE5, DMCIV, and Onimusha.

And Capcom need the money nowadays.

Spore - no need for an explanation.

Mw2 - same for this

Mirrors Edge - awesome setting, good characters, good mechanics, so why do you spend 70% of the game in corridors and vents

Bad Company 2 - 5 hour simpleton campaign, on hard. So glad I didn't buy it.

Prince of Persia(2008) - pretty as fuck, one of the best looking games this gen, so why o why does it have to play like ass and have simple repetitive levels. The levels just non challenge you and push you towards the awful combat, then once you beat the boos dudes you have to go through it all again to get the shit light things, and don't even get me started on the ending, fuck you Ubisoft.

Borderland - Its a first person Diablo with guns, why is it so boring.

and I suppose GTA4 - I am a big gta fan, I have sunk a good 200 hours into san andreas, so why o why did I only ever want to play that game once, and it added multiplayer, one of the things people were dying for after san andreas and that wasn't any fun either.

FF13.

I spent years hyping myself up, believing 12 was a minor blip in the works. Where someone had got too drunk and started looking at excell.

13 came out, I brought it first thing in the morning. Prepared for an all day session...

I was happy, until day 2. I started to get bored, thinking, why aren't I doing anything? But I pushed onwards, thinking 'the summons will be great in this game'.

No they weren't. Most are useless. Still can't use them, take up too many points, mehhhss!

day 7- i'm pushing myself through to complete it so I get a good trade in. Storyline feels stoned and unsure of itself. Doesn't want to show any skin incase it gets called a slut. Really bored now, I'm not playing the game, just watching it happen.

Finish- traded it in...Never playing a FF ever again.

Fuck You Squareenix!

I was late to the party when people claimed how good the Half Life 2 game and episodes were. I did not really like it, silent protagonist, after the gravity gun novelty, guns were not particularly entertaining, characters were not too interesting. Standard bad guys and alienesques.

Alien VS Predator, the newest one.

And Warhammer: Online, sort of...it's an awesome game, very fun to play. Just not as fun as they made it out to be.

Half life 2 is a bit bland, dragon age is a bit simplified and unbalanced but Bioshock takes the cake for being half assed!

Warhammer Online

I was so looking forward to a PvP/large scale PvP-centric game. A game focused around World PvP and battles like old-school Alterc Valley sound like the best thing since sliced bread.

To me the game had a lot of great ideas, but nothing holding them together. It just felt like a game that was several distinct pillars, and no flow between them. Plus the PvE, while almost there (public quest for instance), also felt so, well, flat. Though I really enjoyed the Tome of Knowledge quite a bit, and I hope that something like that makes it into SW:TOR (The 'achievements' in WoW are very very fun, to me, as well).

I gotta go with spore, the early game build looked so cool, I with they had released it like that.

Seriously, if you have half an hour to kill, watch this video, this is what Spore was shaping up to be in 2005.

Compare that to what we got.
I actually died a little inside when I realized we could of had this rather than what we got.
How the bloody hell did they screw up this concept so badly?
My friend said he was quite dissapointed and from the looks of it many others were. I've seen trailers and it looked alright, what was wrong with it?

OT: I was really dissapointed with Final Fantasy 12, it just sucked.

[HEADING=2]COMMAND & CONQUER 4: TIBERIAN TWILIGHT[/HEADING]

Talk about a let down. Especially since C&C is one of my favorite series, but EA just had to really destroy it before they ended it.
