Inb4 Dragon age 2 being terrible even though it's 7/10.

Oh wait, the idiots are already here.
Keyword here is disappointment, people can be disappointed with a game regardless of its "rating". Let's not talk out our butt holes because people don't happen to like a game that they have every right to feel was not as good as it should have been.

As for the OT: Brink.

Dino D-Day. Good god Dino D-Day. It's got nazi dinosaurs you say, you get to play as a velociraptor you say. God that game was atrocious and because of which it was practically dead online.

It just goes to show that Stalin vs the martians taught me nothing. An awesome concept does not make an awesome game. It might work reasonably often for films, but games are a whole different ball game.

Bastion on XBLA.

After Yahtzee seemed to prefer it to From Dust, Which I really liked, and the rest of the people who played it raved, I found it to be rather... Meh.

Every single AAA title (some more, some less) except BFBC2. And even that didn't cut it till Update 1.05 -.-

Hate to say it but Duke Nukem Forever.
I enjoy playing the Duke Nukem games (mainly Time to Kill, Manhattan Project and Duke Nukem 3D) and I really love the character. The problem is that the character is probably the only thing that was done right in DNF. I guess after a 14 year wait I expected something absolutley amazing and almost perfect (because let's face it, every game is gonna have a problem) but instead I got a game that was mediocre and ended up joining the legions of games it was meant to be taking the piss out of instead of being something completely different.
I noticed around a week ago that my copy of the game (PS3) had gotten a little scratch on it (which basically means that the entire disk/game is fucked beyond repair) and I'm still considering if I should buy a replacement (probably next year) or to just forget about it entirely and move on.

One word: Brink. Splash Damage had the opportunity to create something wonderful. It had a solid concept but was broken beyond belief which ruined the entire game.
I was a bit skeptical when they announced this game would be combining elements of parkor into a FPS. The first thing that came to mind was Mirror's Edge, and what difficulties that game came with. Then, I realized that this game would need to be as good as the Uncharted 2 multiplayer to actually be taken seriously.

Unfortunately, it just failed altogether.

3DS... hands down...
Yet to prove it's worth... and somehow I don't think that will happen before 2013 if Nintendo isn't bankrupt by then because of two failed console starts
I really hope everybody gets out of this 3D rut. Everyone knows that 3D may not be the best thing for consoles and handhelds because the added depth can disrupt gameplay and in the case of the 3DS, can be a real pain to be fully immersed into the game.

3D may be great for movies and it may be worth the hassle when it becomes affordable (like every major technological advancement).

Dragon Age 2 is still a great game. Its characters are second to none and the combat is much better than in the original. It just suffered from lack of environments and an odd story structure.

Cant argue with the chest!!
I thought the combat was a massive downgrade. Turned into spamming auto-attack endlessly at the endless stream of nonthreatening mooks.
i personally loved the game but i understand how some people would dislike it, what id like to know is why in the hell didnt they have an option to turn the system back to how it was in the first game?
OT: cant think of anything thats disappointed me this year but then i tend to check out games before i buy:)

i can completely argue with the hair from this ************ (the only character i liked from this game).
the combat is mechanically fun but it's execution was fucking awful.

OP: Dragon Age 2.
then again, i haven't played as many games as i wanted to and most of them i have liked, with the exception of DA2 (and no, i haven't played DNF, and i never will).

So it's ok people are that disappointed (keeping in mind, we're comparing this 'disappointment' to Duke Nukem and other baddies of 2011) by a 7/10? That's just mindless hate.
