Out of the games I have played this year? LA Noire. Sure, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I expected it to be or wanted it to be. The sandbox was meaningless and most of the gameplay features (looking for clues, interrogation) became stale very soon. And the story wasn't all that great either.

hhmmm Crysis 2 and Dragon Age 2 and Brink I think.

I was really dissapointed by Dragon Age 2 as a whole.
Crysis 2 because of the bugs and brink for being brink.

I Could not agree more...massive disappointment. Blizzard has always been one of my greats, but the no-offline thing, to me, is a massive stuff-up.

Well 2011 is not over yet and the biggest realeases are still to come. So it is a bit too early to say isn´t it?

My biggest dissapointment for now is Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

I think everyone's major disappointment was Duke Nukem Forever. The game was so poorly received by old time fans that had built it up for a good few years that it can be nothing but the biggest disappointment.

I haven't really been disappointed, though. I only got LA Noire this year, so far, and I was pretty pleased with it. The ending was shabby, but the rest of it I was happy with.

3DS... hands down...
Yet to prove it's worth... and somehow I don't think that will happen before 2013 if Nintendo isn't bankrupt by then because of two failed console starts
Nintendo bankrupt? ha...haha...hahahahahha. You do realise the Wii is still the strongest selling console right? you do realise that the 3DS, after the price drop granted, has been at the top of the charts for about 3 weeks now right? and if by "failed console starts" your including the WiiU. It isnt really fair to say that about a console that isnt even out yet is it? and besides, i know alot of people that are getting the WiiU. Nintendo wont be bankrupt by 2013. By that year, they will still have more money than microsoft and sony combined.

Dragon Age 2 was disappointing I agree, but not that disappointing, it was still a decent game for me.

Seriously, there were worse disappointments...like Brink.
Kind of...I still thought the difficulty of the bosses in Dragon Age 2 were far too easy. Especially compared to origins. A game that's that easy is instantly a disappointment for me.

Until this very moment? L.A. Noire. The beginning was good and interrogation mechanic was neat, but blank characters, open world and overall feeling of this game being a chore rather then a game has completely destroyed it for me.

I would say Battlefield 3. I was annoyed by the forced use of origin since I have no interest in it. I was more annoyed when certain undesirable things were revealed in it's TOS. Then they announced there's no server browser in the PC version and I can only assume that EA hates their fans.

And also, I've seen quite a few people in this thread mentioning Duke Nukem, and all I can say is: really? If anyone was actually disappointed by that game then you weren't paying attention during the last 14 years of non-development, or to the pre-release announcements and trailers. It never looked like a good game. Ever. Nor could any game that saw so little progress for so long only to be handed off to another developer for release inside of 1 year ever end up being any good.

It was complete crap from what I played, but it would be hard to say I was disappointed. It was exactly what I've come to expect from a franchise that hasn't had a decent release since Duke 3D.

I heard about that game, the story's above average but the controls are terrible and the graphics would make a gameboy blush.

Back on topic the biggest disappointment for me was L.A. Noire, good game, well-acted but far too repetitive, every single case is the same going through the motions.

Test Drive Unlimited 2. Played the hell out of the first one and bought the second on release day. They added things that fans wanted, like weather effects and a day/night cycle, but then completely gimped the physics and force feedback, and removed a lot of the graphics/setup options that were in the first one. The physics and ffb are the very soul of a driving game, and if that's not satisfying, then the game will get dull quickly. And I really hate it when I can't turn off frikken motion blurring.

Here's a tip, Atari/Eden - when you make a sequel, don't REMOVE features that were in the first one.

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit was pretty disappointing as well, after everyone kept saying how it was a return to form for the NFS series. It was little more than a reskinned Burnout, imo. It didn't even have the option to select manual gears ferchrisakes. I'm pretty sure the people at Criterion have never actually driven a car.

PC version for both.
