I think we've all had a few times where were just so sure we'll like a game we buy it on faith and it just totally doesn't work out.

I just try to consider them lessons and move on.

Probably just becoming one. Ive spent so much of my life just trying to get to the next level...sometimes I just want it all back...I've blown so much money and time towards games (like now, when I should be studying)...

Then I remember that once I'm done studying I can go blow the crap out of a Chinese base in the original PS2 Mercenaries!

Missing so many great games for the Sega Saturn. The system itself, although not really that good, did have a bunch of VERY good games, but I kept purchasing crappy games (was pretty much a casual back then, and couldn't tell good from bad).
I missed Nights Into Dreams, Burning Rangers, Guardian Heroes (although I managed to play this one a bit at a friend's house. DAMN it rocked), Virtual ON...

Buying far Cry 2 at full price.

Letting myself be convinced to get WOTLK after quitting WoW for good during BC.

Fable 2 was a pretty big disappointment, if it wasn't for Fable 2 I'd have gotten a PS3 which I now think is probably the better system.

Getting my hopes up about Daikatana was probably the most obvious thing, but I also strongly regret not buying Omikron: Nomad Soul whilst it was still around. I enjoyed the small amount of it I was able to play at a friend's house the other day.

Letting my parents give away my original xbox and games to some random friend of theirs. Later found out it got smashed with a sledgehammer because the kids wouldn't get off it. :(

Not having much money as a kid, getting new games meant trading in old ones, all through the PS1 era and most of the PS2 years I rarely had more than 15 games as a time. Not really a regret as such since I didn't really have a choice, but there are dozens of games I wish I still had, and my lime green Gameboy Colour!

I'm sure many of us gave away or sold an old console, only to longingly stare at our TV sets, our fingers tapping imaginary buttons, wishing we could hear Mario's "It's-a me, Mario!" one last time.

So, yes, my worse sin was letting my cousins take my Nintendo 64 away, games and all. Then they moved away, out of the country, leaving me here, sad and lonely.
My greatest regret in my life as a gamer is that I didn't start sooner. Seriously though, I regret that I live in a forest. Where I live has slow internet, but there is a service provider that gives a decent broadband. Unfortunately, my house in smack dab in the middle of a forest, and as such the signal can't reach my house without a ridiculously high tower being built to reach over hundreds of 100ft+ trees.

Buying a Sega Saturn instead of a PS1. I eventually bought the PS1, but not until FF7 came out.
