The brief period of my life when I was a completionist in regards to Achievements. Hours of my life, wasted boosting a number that has no real effect in games or the real world.

Not buying the Orange Box earlier. I kept holding off on buying it for such a long time for no real reason, and now I finally realize what I've been missing out on all along. Oh well, at least I got to enjoy it in the end.

Playing Fable 2 before playing Fable 1. Now I'm having issues with playing the first one for the dumbest reasons.

Paying for membership on runescape. It was literally about three minutes before I closed the internet and never played again (5 or 6 years ago). My life without it is so much better.

buying 2 Worlds, I played it once and never picked it up again, never EVER should of bout that game. The only thing good about that game was laughing at the absolutely horrible voice acting.

Buying oblivion and fallout 3 for the 360 instead of the PC. Curse you xenu!!!
I second that. Trading in my PC version of Final fantasy VII several years ago. I could have gotten full retail for it if I sold in on E-Bay. Probably more now since it's pretty rare.

I'm usually pretty selective about my buying/selling process. I did go through a phase where I bought game guides along with the game, so I kinda regret that.

Buying a PSP. Seriously at the time all my friends were obsessed with Monster Hunter Freedom 2, and demanded I get it. I did, because there were a couple other games (literally two others) that interested me, and I played the game.

What a horrible grindy, storyless, bad combat, bad camera piece of crap that game was. I still just don't get the appeal of that series, and I don't think I want to. The other two games were disappointing as well, but more because I realized the PSP was just an uncomfortable gaming platform, and I'd rather have an Ipod Touch. So I traded it in and never looked back.
