oh my god!! bad times... bad times.... that scared the living crap out of me every time i play it, even if i can sort of remember where it is... lol they put it like right after a puzzle or something so your mind is distracted... *shudder* dark times...

Finishing a game where there wasn't a plotwist in which either:

A.) A character who was on your side is actucally on the other side.
B.) A character on your side turns to the other side
C.) Two characters have love interests.

Thats a BIG surprise.

Final Fantasy VI. If you haven't played, don't spoil one of the greatest moments in gaming history.

After the incident in floating continent, the whole world collapses. Scene goes dark and you find your character alone on barren, solitary island in the middle of nowhere. The way it's presented makes it feel so post-apocalyptic. I literally thought "what the hell happened there?" That has to be the biggest surprise I've had in a video game.

When I was running around naked fighting heavily armored guards while the colonel kept calling, telling me to turn off my game and that i've played too long I was freakin out. I was like "WHAT GAME WAS I PLAYING AGAIN?"
