Let's face it we all love our critics. From Yathzee to Movie Bob to the mass amounts of them across the internet we just love hearing these people's opinions. But sometimes they say something we disagreed with. Share here the time you most disagreed with a critic.
For me it was probably movie bob's opinion of Scream 4. Maybe its because I am more of a horror movie fan but I thought the movie was funny, scary, and the plot twists were great. Sure Ghost Face doesn't have any remarkable kills but the fun of him is more about the moments up to the kill like the phone call and such.

I completely disagree with <url=http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100414/REVIEWS/100419986/1023>Roger Ebert's review of <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.253962-2-50-Reviews-Kick-Ass-2010>Kick-Ass.

That's the best example I can think of.

I frequently disagree with much of what Yahtzee has to say, but he's a comedian first and a critic second, so I can attribute 90% of my disagreements to him using the best joke possible instead of giving the best review possible.

Okay.. for the record, I am not trying to start a "BOO TWILIGHT" conversation. That said, I caught like.. five minutes of somewhere in the middle of the first movie when it was on TV last week. It was garbage. If I'd known nothing about it previously and watched it on mute, the camera work was enough to put me off. I was trying to be open-minded at the time, too. A mediocre book series that really didn't need to be put on film.

OT: I'm definitely running in front of a boatload of guns here, but I didn't think Inception was that awesome. All I've heard from everybody who's ever seen it is that holyshititsthebestfuckingthingever. I dunno... I mean, it didn't suck, by any means, but I just wasn't as wow'd by it as I was hoping. Same with Black Swan. That might just be because Black Swan is weird and I really haven't been into weird shit lately, though.

When NoobToob said you shouldn't buy Nier. Tied for game of the year 2010 with Deadly Premonition, as far as I'm concerned.

I liked Black Swan but didn't think it was spectacular, or was on level terms with the highly lauded reception it recieved. I think that because it was released in that rather atrophied early year releases period, that it elevated the critical appreciation of the film in regard to the lack of many strong releases out at the time.

Yahtzee: People who play Pokemon games are batshit insane.

Me: Sure, according to you. I on the other hand realize why I enjoy the series and why I'll continue to play it.

It's Moviebob's love of Scott Pilgrim, easily. I enjoy Moviebob, and have been following him even before he was on the Escapist, but Scott Pilgrim is seriously one of the WORST films I've seen in the last decade. Hated 95% of that fucking movie.

I may be wrong, but didn't he only say that in regards to the "100 percenters"? Like the people who literally try to catch 'em all?

I do believe he said it in general terms towards the end too. I'm not certain anymore, I haven't watched that review in awhile but I still disagree. I'm not a 100% guy myself but the tone of the review was against the Pokemon fanboy demographic. Where I clearly sit :D

I didn't get mad, I just got annoyed. I'm not insane, that's all.

I still disagree with how Yahtzee received the Halo franchise as a whole (particularly in his Halo 3 review). He boldfacedly admitted that he hadn't played the first two games and then complained about the story. For me, the best part about those games was the story. It managed to grab hold of me as I fought on to ensure the very survival of the species and indeed every species in the galaxy. He also complained that everything it did had been done before, but then it is worth remember that this is a sequel to a game the completely redefined a genre.

I suppose you are perfectly within your rights to complain how so many games have tried to ape it, but many people have tried to ape Yahtzee too, and while none of them has been as good as Yahtzee, I certainly don't blame Yahtzee for it.

Halo 2 and Halo 3 were absolutely necessary to the plot line of Halo: Combat Evolved. In Halo 2, they expanded on the concept by introducing the struggle within the Covenant that invoked an underlying perspective on racism. The Covenant's religion also neatly mirrored the conflict we find ourselves in in today's society wherein we are fighting people who have such devotion to their set of beliefs that they will kill themselves and all others around them to make their point.

I won't even try to hold up the multiplayer since I find myself in a similar position of not being able to effectively play multiplayer due to connection problems. For me it is just poor rural infrastructure and for Yahtzee it is because he lives on an isolated continent with the nearest English speaking country being across the world's largest ocean. I understand why he doesn't like multiplayer.

For what it's worth, when I did get a few friends in the room with a console, I found Halo 3's multiplayer ideal for an all-night Mountain Dew fuel jamboree. I loved the "zombie mod" and how the physics parameters of the game could be manipulated to turn what would otherwise be a boring game of tag into a crazy slaughterfest in which I had energy sword wielding zombies screaming towards me at 300% speed with the gravity for them turned way down, but with the inability to survive anything more serious than a spitball.

I got the idea that Yahtzee somewhat regretted his opinion of the Halo franchise around the time Reach came out and his criticisms seemed much more reasonable, but for me, this is still a black mark on his otherwise stellar record.

I didn't think Scott Pilgrim was very good. I also very much enjoyed the film Bob was so quick to blame for his Yaoi-esqu obssession's flop, The Expendables. It was a stupid action movie, but it was a fun stupid action movie in the same vein as Commando.

Also i'm getting hit with a captcha every 3-5 posts. It's rather annoying.

MovieBob and his review of The book if Eli. Just scanning through the comments of how many people didn't go see it because of his opinion that a man's unrelenting faith could drive a story still kinda makes my eye twitch.

Also his review of Expendables I really enjoyed that movie.

That and Yahtzee's passionate hatred of JRPG's.

My best example I can think of is Yahtzee's SSBB Brawl review when I first heard it. But when I played it again, I can see that he was right.

Still, I like it.

Speaking as a fellow Halo fan, I mean, enough of a fan to consider it my favourite series. Halo has a serious problem with making the series inaccessible to new players, both in gameplay and story.

Scott Pilgrim was one of the worst films I have ever seen, so I disagree with moviebob there. And also, I thoroughly enjoyed Mirror's Edge, so I disagree with Yahtzee there. I don't really look at other reviews, I'm rather slack :p.
