I wouldn't rate it perfect, but it elicited an emotional response out of me that hardly any other game has replicated. The gameplay was a little boring for me, and it did veer on the easy side, but the story, characters, and soundtrack easily made up the difference.
I can agree with that. The combat was easily the weakest aspect, but to me, by no means bad. I enjoyed it and found it... fitting in a way. Can't really describe it but the story and characters and the soundtrack were just perfect :D

I never let critics tell me what to buy because most thinks are subjective. I will make up my own mind if its good or bad.

But If I count yahtzee there are some things I disagree with, mainly Half life 2 I just don't like it.

Any would be quoter: Shouting at me about Half life 2 isn't going to change my feelings on the game.

Oh hell, the combat was good. I can't complain, nor praise it. The fight against the Colossus though... help me, I was actually frantically mashing dem buttons to beat it.

Oh yeah, that was awful. Still fun though and I think everyone who played that just hit buttons at random XD

IGN's review of Godhand was pretty bad and stupid...given it's one of my favorite games on the PS2.

Roger Ebert opinion on games as art. I think he's flat out wrong and I'd pay good money to explain to him why he's wrong.
His opinion on games is invalid, anyway. He has zero knowledge of video games. Why care about a worthless, ignorant opinion?
OP: Ebert's and Brad Jone's reviews on Avatar. I love those two, but I just couldn't see it.

Ok. Fair enough, but what if I had started watching the Return of the King or Return of the Jedi without any prior knowledge of what happened in the previous 2 movies? I would have absolutely no right to complain when I said that they story didn't make sense. You don't enter a building on the third floor (catwalks notwithstanding) and you don't entire an epic trilogy 3 movies in.
Yeah, because being forced to play 2 outdated games is totally like watching all the movies in a trilogy. I played all 3 and I still thought the story was bloody rubbish. Would it have killed them to make a "story so far" section? Of course not. But then snobs like you wouldn't have been able to act all high and mighty when new players were turned off by the fact that Halo's story just isn't that impressive.

Ebert's review of Thor
Yahtzee's ideas about the merit of multiplayer
Most reviews of Sucker Punch! which come down to "tits and guns, my Victorian sensibilities have been offended, 4/10."

Perhaps you could fill us in on what games you think had such a brilliant plot, you combative thicky.

Any review of Starship Troopers ever.

Okay, Paul Verhoven may as well have handed a strapon to the critical community and bent right over by pretending that he was in any way making a serious war movie or anything remotely relevant to Robert Heinlein's book of the same name.

But there is such a thing as 'so bad it's good', and that movie hits it perfectly. You get to watch terrible actors get mauled by giant bugs and it is fun. Anything beyond that to me is missing the point, the world needs movies you can laugh at rather than with.

I would have to say TheSpoonyOne's critique on Tron Legacy. He tore it to shreds quite unjustly.

That's the best example I can think of.

Yahtzee: People who play Pokemon games are batshit insane.

Me: Sure, according to you. I on the other hand realize why I enjoy the series and why I'll continue to play it.
I may be wrong, but didn't he only say that in regards to the "100 percenters"? Like the people who literally try to catch 'em all?
Yes, and he is right. I know this...because I am one of them. I currently desire to catch all pokemon up to Gen 3 and rebought all Gen 3 games to do so. Ruby, Saphire, Emerald, LeafGreen, FireRed. Im trading constantly with myself, playing the games at the same time. This wont even get me all of them. I will have to cheat to get the super Legendary Pokemon. (Mew, Celebi, Jurachi) This only adds to the insanity of it all. They tell you to catch the dragon...but you never can...you never can...

Also Ebert is a total elitist snob.

When I disagreed with a critic?

Titan A.E. was an amazing movie. What do you mean, "plot holes?" Hey, look, pretty animation! Did you see those ice rings, man, they were freaking beautiful!

I actually liked Final Fantasy Spirits Within, and I don't even like Final Fantasy or even JRPGs.
I agree with these aspects. Finally someone has seen Titan A.E!

OT: As he said, Titan A.E., Final Fantasy Spirits Within, Atlantis the Lost Empire and some more movies I can't remember were great.

As for games I liked I would say Thief 3, and a little bit of Pathologic and The Void, even though Rock Paper Shotgun is basically a loyal fanatic crusader of these two games, which is great!

The only time I can think of where I have disagreed with Yahtzee was on Mirror's Edge. There are few differences though, he paid $120 AUD. I paid $20 USD. He played it on his well known to be middle-bottom of the line PC. I played it with an HD 3870 gfx card at the time (and since replayed it with an HD 5850) He played the demo. I didn't. So my experience right out of the gate was much more preferable. The flaws that he mentions in his review don't add up enough to be a deal breaker. The colorful environments, immersive camera, excellent soundtrack & brilliant, minimalistic approach to combat far outweighed the negatives of a very weak story, and others I can't remember. Plus, I enjoy doing speed-runs. To quote Jeff Goldblum, "Must go faster"

I disagree with a few of Yatzhee's reviews. Halo 3 and Reach were really good, and I thought Oblivion was quite immersive. But then, I watch Yatzhee for his hilarity, not his criticism. Which leads me to mention a bit of irony - I stumbled upon this site because I was looking for someone that didn't give Bioshock a perfect score! So I found a critic I liked for his humor, not his criticisms, because I was looking for a critic that would criticize a game for its faults! Not sure if I worded that well enough, but hopefully whoever reads it will know what I mean.
Is this one of those "careful what you wish for things?" Sounds to me like you found exactly what you were looking for and then realized you didn't actually like it.

Final Fantasy Spirits Within:

Yes, I know it was nothing to do with Final Fantasy, stop whining about it, you damned fanboy. On it's own merits it was a pretty decent film. Didn't age well though...

Movies Bob's Expandables Review:

I was the only who got the impression that the whole review was about Movie Bob ranting about Scott Pilgrim didn't gone so well as he should?
