Try watching this clip of Bill replying to John.

Bill defending FOX news [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvsEuQYwFSg]

I find it funny that he's replying to a satyrical comedy programme like John is an actual journalist. Its like me treating Hugh Laurie as a medical doctor because hes in House. He also states that 45% of Johns viewers are liberal.
I'm not a big O'Reilly fan, but in truth there is a large proportion of teens and 20 somethings who take Stewart's show as news. When all you watch is the daily show for your information (which many do) you are not informed.
I would say you're more informed than you would be if you just stuck with one of the cable networks. TDS focuses more on how the networks react to an event than the event itself, and so if you watch the show regularly you get a very good sense of how distorted and irrelevant 90% of the American newsmedia is.

That is awesome. I couldn't stop laughing. Fair play to Bill for agreeing to it. I think Bill secretly loves it. I've seen him on the Daily Show and he seemed to be having fun. More conservatives should be able to laugh at themselves, its an admirable quality.
Really? Because to me, it just seemed like the jokes went right over his head....

Wait. People still care about what comes out of Bill O'Reilly's mouth?
Nutter conservatives do. Mind you, these are the same people who think "Conservapedia" is a valid source of information.

America needs someone like Jeremy Paxman [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Paxman] on news night. He savages poloticians from all parties, he doesn't put up with spin or dodging questions.

I have a giggle everytime her says "We approached [random politician who's fucked up] for interview but he was unavailable for comment". You need balls of steel to face down Paxman after a gaff.

Maybe I gave Bill too much credit, I didn't think he could be that oblivious. He must know, although he keeps a straight face really well...

Perhaps he did notice the jokes, but if he did then he definitely failed at outwitting Colbert, all his accusations and anger turned into more laughs for Colbert. "That's not a real bear right??"

FOX news is stupid and conservatively biased.

Don't believe the stupid part? Look at their map of the Middle East.

I love the idiotic smirk Billy Boy puts on everytime he thinks he's making a valid point.
Your right good sir... never noticed it until he made a cocky comment about Obama during the campaign.

what makes this and the daily show thing so funny is that O'Reilly is ultimately an entertainer. he admitted as much in the last twenty seconds of <a href=http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/81003/january-18-2007/bill-o-reilly>his guest spot on the Colbert Report.

the irony is that conversely, jon stewart is more of a newsman than he lets on. the other day he sat down with a guest and the health care reform bill and debated it page by page.

on one hand it's great that jon stewart feels obligated to actually report facts now and then. on the other it's depressing that the news media in America declined to the point where shows like the Daily Show and Colbert exist in the first place.

The Daily Show is a comedy show that pokes fun at politics, yet I find it much more trustworthy than Fox News, from what I've seen. plus jon just has an adorable face

Bill O is just an angry man, a sad, angry man, struggling to keep his ratings against that maniac Glen Beck.
Glenn Beck is awesome to watch. I find it entertaining, though Red Eye at midnight is hilarious. (California's midnight)

I friggin' love American news-personalities. They take something as mundane as world events and make a little show out of it. In the UK it's still the classic dead-pan face, bit of info, interview, maybe a specialist to chip in a word or two. They smile occasionally these days but those people don't last long.

Ofcourse I suppose putting a political bias/slant on the news, and have it funded with tax-payers money would be a little bit on the off. Shame tho, it's good entertainment.
Sorta ironically, John Stewart mentioned that in one of his shows, comparing a clip of an english reporter calmly reporting about that huge parliament-money fraud scandal in the U.K. to to American reporters screaming at each other over something pretty tiny.

OP: Jesus Christ O'Reilly is boring. Then again maybe its not his fault- He has to talk very slowly with long pauses in between statements so his drooling audience can understand the lies he's saying.

Jon Stewart was actually interviewed on Bill's show before. YouTube it, it's fairly entertaining.
