You know what would be awesome? If the evil ending from Bioshock 1 was canonical, and the good ending from Bioshock 2 was canonical. Eleanor realizes that Jack from the first game has been causing chaos up on the surface with his very own Splicer army and a bunch of submarines equipped with nuclear weapons.

He's built himself his very own Rapture city, that stretches from the bottom of the ocean up to the surface and beyond, and Eleanor must defeat him by herself to save the planet from his madness.

Since the first and second game explored both Anarchy and Communism, how about we have Jack be a fascist? He rules his empire with an iron fist, and his splicers are more dedicated than ever. He's built himself loads of Big Daddies that work independently without Little Sisters, as instead they hold both functions of collecting and storing ADAM, as well as protecting it.

Plasmids are more powerful, enemies are more diverse, and the story is, to me at least, very interesting
And that actually makes a Bioshock 3 sound interesting.

I haven't played Bioshock 2, and probably never will. But yeah, if things do turn out like that, I will. Because that sounds awesome.

How about bioshock 3 is a reboot of 1 and 2 only with more balance, more customization, better multiplayer, refined and polsihed story, more story, items, weaopn options. More RPG with consequences and less mindless shoot fest......

I disagree with a lot of people. BioShock isn't BioShock because of Rapture. BioShock is BioShock because of the atmosphere and plasmids and collecting adam from little girls after spending 5 minutes trying to kill the big daddy defending her. thats what makes bioshock awesome. i believe that if bioshock3 wasn't in rapture it would still be a good game but i think they should scrap the idea of being a big daddy and go back to being the main character in the first one and change the location. maybe when the main character escapes rapture goes some where else to do it all again but with a different story than to the first. However i don't like the moon idea though. if bioshock is set in the 50s and the moon landing was in 69 then how could that work. the race to the moon started in the early 60s. plus the 1969 moon landing was fake any ways they didn't really get to the moon intill the 70s. i think if bioshock was moved to another place whilst keeping a good story line from the first and keeping the awesome atmosphere of rapture then it would be a great game. ill say it again, bioshock isn't made up of rapture, bioshock is made up of the gameplay mechanics and awesome atmosphere.

fuck you to the people who think their shouldn't be another bioshock. give me a few good reasons why another bioshock is so bad. if it is different but the same then there is always room for new sequals. sure bioshock2 fucked everything up the ass but who says a bioshock3 couldn't be good.

I say it should be set before the war, with you as a citizen(customizable as to gender, looks, class(upper or lower), job/career, etc.) and having to live through the tight & rough times in Rapture before and then during the war(like there are different factions you could choose to help, and if you piss off one faction hard enough you'll have to fight them as like a boss fight).

Looking into the past is fun. Its amazing what we all used to do.

Although I don't condone thread-necroing.

Holy thread necro, Batman!

But they have announced the setting to Bioshock 3. This time it's a city in the sky, and it's called Colombia. And it's not Bioshock 3, it's Bioshock Infinite [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BioShock_Infinite].

Where do you think Bioschock 3 should be set. Personally I am bored of rapture and would like to see a changing world environment. Where plasmids and such things that are in Bioshock are revealed to the world. Where do you believe bioshock 3 should be set?
You know the third Bioshock game has been already been announced right?

Though Bioshock inFinite is the third one, I do believe that it would be cool playing as a female character then just always playing males.

Hey guys whatever happened to the main character in Bioshock 1 and 2 hmm they were both sent to the surface but. What about the entire city of Rapture lossening from the seabottom and rising to the top and the world governments send in people to clear it out and secretly to find out its secrets and the main character is hired to aid the governments in clearing the city. Pretty awesome idea, for one we still have rapture, it gives it a spices things up a bit too.

well, I always fancied the idea of going to Rapture in the modern age, and seeing that Rapture is all repaired and shit, being that there were no longer little sisters to gather adam, so Rosie's (the big daddy kind) had fixed all the leaks, which is kinda what the Rivet Gun was originally designed for =P.

and that Andrew Ryan respawned in a vita chamber, especially because, well, the vita chambers were kinda programmed to work only with Andrew's DNA, hence why Jack could spawn in them

Why call it Bioshock if it isn't set in Rapture? All you would get by introducing plasmids to the world would be a mix of doom 3, followed by a lot of fallout 3.
what bout bioshock: infinite?
look where it is set.
bioshock isn't just rapture: it's the whole experience.

First of all I would always be careful juding a game based on it's trailers. Because that's not how the real product will be.

Second, Bioshock infinite seems to have even less in common with the first Bioshock than I predicted. It doesn't seem to have the same creepy surrounding as the first two games and system shock. So why ceep calling it Bioshock? I don't say it will be a bad game, I just wonder why they want to keep dragging that name along, even when they have moved far from the origiinal setting.

Sure the plot of BIF seems to be similar to the first ones, but basing the naming on that would be like James Cameron calling Avatar "Dances with Wolves: Blue Edition"

I think it would be cool if it was still in Rapture (since Rapture IS Bioshock) but in a modern or near future setting.

Say if the outside world found Rapture and various factions form and they fight over the city for their own reasons. Some want to learn from it, some want to destroy it, and some just want to go back home.

Of course its not going to happen, apparently Bioshock is supposedly going to have like 4 more sequels but everything that could come out of it has already been done as well as it could have been done.

Its called Bioshock, the original, and its awesome.

Nowhere. Nowhere at all.

Bioshock 1 was brilliant.

Bioshock 2 was okay.

I don't want to know what Bioshock 3 would be like. Leave it be.

I'm eagerly awaiting Bioshock Infinite though.
