The thing is that they released some of their best titles with EA as their publisher.

Dragon Age was also released with EA in charge.

It should be noted that both Mass Effect and Dragon Age began life when Bioware was independent. EA bought them up just before the release of Mass Effect.

Both had the bulk of the work finished on them already. That's why they had about 4 years of development time.

Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2 however...fully created under EA's watch.

I think it's safe to assume that's why they both had shorter development times, big chunks removed and resold as DLC or Preorder "bonuses", and were generally "streamlined" towards the COD market by focusing on the action, rather then the deeper RPG elements.

The more you know.

People didn't just start hating Bioware because it was cool.
It was the systematic breaking down of all the great elements of the developers that once were and the horrible mistreatment of long time fans.
(Though Bioware do often get credit for alot of Black Isle's work on the older titles)

The Bioware that made good games is long since dead.

I smelt the rot for the first time when I played Mass Effect 2, and when Dragon Age II was launched EA dragged the maimed corpse out of the broom-closet and had it dance like a grotesque puppet.

Bioware is dead, a murdered in part by EA and in part by their own massively over-inflated ego.

Also, and everyone, do me a favor and realize this:

DA2 WAS NOT A BAD GAME.

Worst than the first one. Not an AMAZING game. But it was mediocre at worst.

Bioware is dead? I am loving SWTOR and MW but I will give you DA2 (was crap). But one bad game does not a dead company make. But anxsty and swearing message does a troll make.
