I will throw out such statements any day of the week.

If you aren't going to protest the subpar writing quality CONSISTENT throughout the game, UNTIL the ending removed your little LI lovefest then you deserve no respect.
WoW, you are hopeless. You are talking to someone who actually agrees with a lot of the points you have posted at least on principal, someone who does understand everything wrong with the decline of storytelling quality since the second game, someone who definitely understands these things better than you do.

You have proven yourself time and time again to not be worthy of conversing with. You have a terrible attitude. It doesn't even matter how right you are or what you have to say at this point, you insult everyone you talk to instead of debating things respectfully or even getting your points across very well.

I could make a new thread making most of the same points you seem to think you are making, but unlike you I would get reasonable responses because I don't act like a douche. The problem you are having communicating on these boards has nothing to do with bioware fanboys, the problem is on you.

Me2 and Me3 are just dumbed down, casual shit that only pandered to the Halo fucktard and call of duty losers. While making sure that we could have sex with MORE NPCS!!12!@1
So people who like Halo and Call of Duty are fucktards and losers to you? God forbid someone would actually enjoy shooters!
They just need to stay the hell away from RPG games. I can't count how many shooter games are released monthly. Why must they infect my genre? do I go to their genre and ask for shit like 'dialogue choice'?

No, everyone would think I'm a pompous prick. But they get away with doing the same to my FAVOURITE genre. It's absolutely sickening.
its my favorite genre as well but you don't see me whiny about it
I can't believe that I'm actually gonna side with Zeel on this one. At least partially. We should whine about it. Maybe if we whined about it more and if we were to stop buying sub-par games that try to cater to a "wider audience" which is just a euphemism for "this game is dumbed down for causal shooter fans" eventually developers would start making good RPG games again. If not, there will be a big hole in the industry where RPG once stood, and it would be only a matter of time before some smart developer stepped in to make a good game for true RPG fans.

Don't want to read the whole thread to point this out but this is old news. The Casey interview has been covered already and this article just assumes he is talking about ending DLC. You're welcome.

Just proves that they're making DLC, which will add to the length of the game, and therefore "extend play beyond the current finish of the game". Doesn't prove the DLC is of the post-ending variety.

And people don't hate the current ending because it's not all sunshine and rainbows, people hate the ending because it's dumb, really really dumb on so many levels.

Game extending DLC? Fucking liars. Didn't you say you were so proud of the ending there was NO WAY you were going to change it or add anything after it?

Whatever, I sold your "sad" game (the ending isn't sad it's just that you guys make me sad) and I'm enjoying some RE:ORC and some SH:Downpour and they aren't perfect games but they DON'T annoy me.

I am glad that they are taking notice of the customer dissatisfaction, but I am wary of what they are promising, I will not buy the DLC until other people have reviewed it and posted it on youtube. I would like to see more people follow this line of thought.

Because this
Hudson said the game had been designed with a series of endings to key plots to allow players to "carry the knowledge of these consequences with you as you complete the final moments of your journey."
sounds like half a statement.
You're going to give them money? Are you serious? Just three days ago you were saying how you were "DONE WITH BIOWARE"

this is what I mean by flakey fanboys. All would've forgotten had Bioware showed a little spine
on this issue. If Bioware keeps burping the baby. The baby is going to demand food eventually. Had they ignored the little shit-producer, they would've died out eventually.
Yes Zeel, I am going to give them money, lots of it, so much in fact that I will personally finance every bit of DLC they will make in the future, you are free to quote me on this, because im not being facetious at all, and you can prove to the internet at large, that you are the last bastion of human dignity in the entire planet.

Now go forth Zeel, I here some people might actually consider watching reviews of ME3 before purchasing, those fanbois need to be put in their place, Godspeed

Hmmm...maybe it's down to high-traffic but that link opens nothing but a blank page. I don't even get a "404" error - just a lot of white.

Oop! Skip that! After many presses of the "refresh" button, it is now working. Excuse me while I read it.

"We always intended that the scale of the conflict and the underlying theme of sacrifice would lead to a bittersweet ending,"

OK, I have no problem with that. I never expected this to be all sunshine, rainbows and picnics. While it would have been nice to be able to go: "HAH! I win!" before hip-thrusting over a dead-reaper, I always expected the victory to be tainted by the fact that it was gained at a HUGE cost. "War is hell", so they say.

"To do otherwise would betray the agonizing decisions Shepard had to make along the way,"

No kidding? I actually agonised for several minutes (I paused the game) when I had to choose between Ash and Kaiden. Choosing whether to spare the Rachni queen was another humdinger! Sure there was no way I could just take her word for it that she'd be a good girl but there was also the small fact that I had no right to play God with another species. This really was a damned if you do, damned if you don't moment - just to clarify, this is NOT a complaint. As harsh as the choices are, the game is richer for them.

"We'll keep listening, because your insights and constructive feedback will help determine what that content should be," he said. "This is not the last you'll hear of Commander Shepard.
"We also recognize that some of our most passionate fans needed more closure, more answers, and more time to say goodbye to their stories," Hudson added.

YES! Although this is somewhat vague and I fully accept that I might be showing some naïveté here but I don't care - I hope that this is the start of BioWare's damage-control. While it would be the business equivalent of cutting his own throat for Hudson to admit that they cocked it up, I like to think that this is his way of meeting us at least halfway.

'Hudson said the game had been designed with a series of endings to key plots to allow players to "carry the knowledge of these consequences with you as you complete the final moments of your journey."'

So where are they? Note he said: "designed" rather than "released" or "made" which makes me think that this is not just a case of BioWare going: "Oh fuck it, that'll do!" Again - could be just wishful thinking on my part but I am not ruling anything out at this point.

This just takes the fucking cake.

Day one dlcs, crappy rpg elements, sub par writing quality. And what gets these fanboys to move their asses? A shitty 5 minute cinematic. All because there's no shack up mini game at the end of the series.

God help us if they charge people for it.(which we know they will) I wont stand for that screwy shit either. Then again, maybe I shouldn't even give a shit? Maybe I should let you guys indulge for once. Let's see how much money EA games can pilfer.

This news is disappointing.
Oh yeah, god forbid that we be satisfied with the rest of the game and not with the ending, god forbid that we criticize them for not giving us what they promised us, and god forbid that they actually respond. And again you drop the word fanboy, do I have to look up the princess bride meme again? Seriously you use that word at the drop of a hat, I seriously think that you're just spouting it off at random at everything ME related.
They didn't give you what they promised the WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLE GAME.

"Choices that impact the story" where, pray tell is that? Please man. Can you show me where that promise is kept?
When I gave a puppy to Miranda, She said she took care of it in ME3 and it grows up to be a big Guard dog that bites the Illusive man in the butt, you probably didnt see it because you need to buy the Super Extra Special Edition that they only give away after buying 10 of their products and becoming an Official member of the Biodrone Squad.

"Enhanced RPG elements" Huh? Finding the RPG elements are like playing a game of Where is Waldo.
duh, no one likes shitty turned paced crap anymore, its the new millenium, we need quicktime events and lots of them, and FPS man, just because you think spreadsheet RPG elements are needed doesnt make them plplar

So don't give me this minor shit about the ending. The ending was the least of that games problems.
no way, the ending was the best thing of the game, you didnt get the extra cool version because you didnt register your personal information and put on an origin tracking chip. :p

Not sure why I bother but... seriously, dont you ever get tierd of all this hate? Have you ever tried to... you know, just let it go? Realise that you cant change anything and just... leave it be? Focus that energy elsewhere? On something thats actually productive?

And also... if you could predict ME3 to be this "shitty" why did you even buy it? For all your hatred you still rewarded the company for their actions by buying the game. Kinda contradicting yourself.

I'm waiting...

You opened with a badly-constructed tirade and then followed up with a very rude request (if I can call it that) but I am seeing no actual opinion in your post.

Hudson, however, noting feedback from players that the ending was too bleak, said BioWare was working on new content that will be made available to download online to extend play beyond the current finish of the game.

Any thoughts on the subject people?
The ending was not "too bleak", it was too shit and made no sense.

Second.

OT: at this point I don't even want to get my hopes up to think it will be "good" I'll be stoked if it's just "Less shit." Because, I mean, it can't be more shit right? Oh, god I wish I hadn't said that out loud.

Unless it's officially announced what the DLC will be, it's too vague. "Game Extending DLC" could just refer to a bonus mission with extra lore I no longer care about.
It would have to in some way change or improve the ending to make it worth-while.

As it stands I wasted $60 and a space on my shelf. Don't really feel like adding more to that.

Wow, If the outcry managed to get Bioware to announce this DLC the game community might be getting more powerful.

Incoming shit storm(and Zeel)

Prepare for lulz to ensue
The community had nothing to do with it. Think about it, it was obvious from looking at ME 2 and EA's other games that ME 3 game would have tons of DLC. What the hell else was the DLC going to be about if not the real ending to the series?

Months ago when EA said ME 3 would be a conclusive end to Shepard's story, I knew it was bullshit because then what would they do in the DLC. It was always obvious that they were going to chop the ending and sell it as DLC, I have no idea how other people didn't see that coming.

I just finished playing the game tonight, and I'm going to be perfectly honest, I don't understand what the hell everyone is bitching and whining about. I loved the way this game ended. I didn't really expect it to end any other way than humanity getting utterly destroyed by the Reapers. What did people want? A song and dance routine where everyone lives happily ever after? I think that would have been a far bigger 'fuck you' to the fans than the endings that we did get.

In terms of DLC, I think (or rather hope) that one of them would be a mission to help Aria take back Omega. As soon as she showed up and said that she'd lost it I thought to myself 'Future DLC'. I could imagine it being standard Bioware DLC length, and I could see it being a War Asset boost.

What I absolutely don't think the game needs is DLC that rewrites and extends the ending. Though I will be interested to see how Bioware develop the franchise after this, since they have said that they're not done with the Mass Effect universe yet...

Hudson, however, noting feedback from players that the ending was too bleak
LMAO
wow
never mind the 'bleak' bit of the ending wasn't really the main issue as i've come to understand, it was plot holes, 'choices ending up not mattering' (not going there, don't have time ....) it being only 1 tweaked slightly....
