I am not even bothering with the first part, because you will jsut twist it because of how it isnt a guy screaming at the screen the exact goings on, its retty easy to see an know whats happening, you dont need the guy to tell you. Also geth are no longer with reapers.
They listened ? No that didnt slip my mind, maybe it sliped yours that eople said the inventory was cluttered, so instead of simplifying it, they removed it.
Pple disliked how exploring planets felt the same, they removed exploration.
Thats like going to a dr for a broken toe and them amputating my foot.
Also its clear they ont listen, no one asked for ME2 to be a dumbed down rpg, that was more TPS, I know plenty of people who hated it, and its obvious BW dont listne, look at the direction DA2 hass taken, dont remember eople asking for any of it.
No idea why you quoted the halo part then went on about EA, I am guessing you think they will milk Mass effect, probablly will, EA likes rining things.
The trailer doesn't tell you anything except that Earth is under attack and you will try to save it. There have been tons of video game marketing campaigns that talk about Earth under attack, only to have that be a minor side mission. Look at Halo. Hell, Halo 3's ending was totally different from what the Believe campaign implied. In any event, the trailer certainly does nothing to imply that you will be successful at fighting the Geth. I viewed it more as Shepherd is given a suicide mission and has to try. Also, Sovereign went down pretty easy once he landed on the Citadel.
Secondly, there could be Geth that you missed in ME2 allied with the Reapers, I would not be surprised, considering how easily the Reapers seem to make allies (Saren, a few Krogan, other scientists, Asari, the Geth). It certainly seems that there's no shortage of mercenaries or groups of scientists willing to do anything for money or power in the ME universe.
And I also completely disagree about your interpretation of how BioWare handled complaints.
They didn't remove the inventory, they simplified it. They distilled the differences in the guns down to the few practical things you actually cared about. Instead of 60 pistols, each a slight variation of shooting fast or shooting hard, they gave you 2 pistols. One shoots a lot of less powerful bullets, the other shoots a few powerful bullets. The same with the other types of guns. Now you have much fewer decisions to make, but they affect play style more. In Mass Effect 1, you just chose whichever gun you had with the highest roman numeral next to it. In 2, you don't have a best option, just a preferred option.
They didn't remove exploration, they just cut out the generic, one planet per system, box of exploration and instead put in a few interesting, if in some cases short, side quests. Exploring a few wrecks was fun. The few non combat solo missions were fun. It was much better than the original "here's the one planet we land on. It has 4 mineral deposits, one prothean artifact, one crashed probe and one pirate base. You'll get a large number of credits and some gear that is worthless for doing it" method.
ME2 wasn't "dumbed down," it was streamlined. The focus was more on playing the fun parts and having something to do, rather than the original. Gunplay in 1 was boring, you just pulled the trigger until the bad guy fell down. In 2, you had to aim and think tactically. Biotic powers were much more of an investment and required more skill than in 1, not to mention, were more satisfying. Conversations now had the possibility of interrupts, so you were forced to pay close attention and keep up.
The only people I know who didn't like 2 are strangers online, who tend to *****. Everyone I know personally who played it, loved it.
