Wait, wasn't Biowares arguably most successful game (Mass Effect) given 360 priority, rather than PC?

I'm not a PC gamer, simply because I've no intrest in modding etc, but it seems to me like Bioware put its biggest current franchise on consoles before PC..
I think his point is that the preferred platform for development over at Bioware is PC, rather than looking at financial figures. Everyone I've talked to (and in my own experience) has said that any Bioware game is better on the PC, with no exceptions.

Obvious post in obvious

I saw this news post and actually said "I wonder how long it's going to take for someone to post that picture."

Not long at all.
Considering they've got the canceled Duke Nukem Forever as the last box there, they should probably find another picture unless they're looking to undermine their own point.

All I know is that PC games are getting fewer and further between, and the mainstream games that do get released have a nasty tendency to be boring clones that cater more and more to casual gamers. If the future of PC Gaming is Farmville then PC gaming is not only dead, its corpse is smelling up the place.

Granted, there will always be the rare gem, probably produced by indies whose eyes aren't clouded by dollar-signs. As far as mainstream developers are concerned, Bioware is a highly unusual exception in that they produce something worth playing (even though their RPGs have stuck to the same formula since Baldur's Gate).

Finally now there's a quote to go with the picture when someone says PC gaming is dying.

To really shove it in the faces of people who says it's dead:

Most AAA titles that come out on console come out on PC too, now there's some of you that are shrugging and saying "So where's your exclusives?". That's called the modding community or just better versions of said game.

Sure you can play fallout 3 on PS3/360 and it's fantastic, but can you play it with the buster sword? Or with a car? Well if you play it on PC you can.

Team Fortress 2 many are complaining about getting updates on console, while pc players have had these updates and now Mac users of all people (didn't see that coming) and console users want these updates to come out for them too, but lets be honest, for 10 bucks (game goes on super sale often enough) you can get TF2 and have a server list longer than you are tall. I sold my console version of Orange Box the second I found out about this and I never regretted it.

Since this guy is from Bioware, let's use Dragon Age! Which version has the best control, well considering the console version doesn't even have the tactical over head view that's already a lost battle.

Again, this isn't saying that console gaming is bad, I've got consoles right behind me and they're great to play. But this is mostly targeted for those who say PC gaming is dead and only use their PC for facebook (though now consoles do that! hurf hurf) and homework.

Yet another reason for me to like BioWare, and to feel safe in investing an entire summer's savings in my gaming computer :)

Hey, Mr.Bioware? We don't give a fuck about your platform wars. We only wish we could play Mass Effect 2 on our PS3, but we can't because you are too busy being a lazy asshole and making internet declarations. Fuck you.
No, they are being to lazy and working on The Old Republic which is going to be a great game.

I would have to agree that a Bioware game is best played on a PC. In my opinion Dragon Age: Origins just seems better on the PC than it does on a console. I have Mass Effect 1 & 2 for the consoles but I will most likely be re-buying them for my PC in the next few months.

The only thing that can kill PC games industry is a stupid DRM system. More than a week after buying Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, and after that last fiasco with Assassins Creed II, my pal who still cannot play PoP because of the servers, decided to never ever buy an original Ubisoft game ever again.

Also, to add another PC exclusive that makes it a worthy competitor: The Witcher.

PC gaming may not be dying, but it certainly isn't getting stronger.
Right now, it's best for FPRPG's (like Oblivion), MMO's, and RTS games. With motion controls improving, FPS's are likely to become more fun to play on consoles.
Plus just about everything else has better controls on consoles anyway. Only a matter of time...

Yes but Bioware, if PC gaming can support itself like you say, then answer me this: when was the last time you released a PC exclusive?

Especially, since EA talked about bringing the Old Republic to consoles back in 2008. From where I'm sitting guys, you lost you're credibility when you released Dragon Age: Origins to the 360 and the PS3. Though you're attempts to suck up to the PC gaming community will be appreciated by most I'm sure, but guys in a lot of ways that's like offering water to a man dying from dehydration. With this and all that bashing you do on the JRPGs I gotta wonder, guys? When are you gonna pull out the original material?

If PC gaming dies then the Indie games that are made for it die as well.PC gaming will die out long after the console wars are over.

What about Half Life 2?
A PC game with a successful Console version
Or perhaps the Sims?
Crysis?
Fallout?

But yeah no. PC games are just successful console ports
He said that he is "not sure" that the biggest games are "mostly PC." He never said anything about all PC games just being console port overs. and what about some arguably more successful games that you never mentioned like Halo, Modern warfare, anything with "mario" in the title (not PC games btw) No need to make sarcastic comments like that because one guy said that maybe the PC isn't gods gift to sliced bread

OT: hell no PC gaming is not dying. Starcraft II is about to come out (maybe). industry. saved. seriously though, I would just look at that picture up top. pretty much says it all

Why is the GTAIV port mentioned?

.. I thought it was poorly optimized and a sheer lagfest?

I prefer the PC over the console any day. But the consoles are okay too. Only thing I have against consoles is FPS-games for the consoles. The aiming is so horrible.
