I have always joked about how they remake movies, saying that they should remake the Birds by Alfred Hitchcock just to be funny. The other day I came across an entry on imdb for "The Birds" (2011). Here is the link:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0884788/

I dont know what this is all about but it looks like Michael Bay is involved somehow because I found it from a link on his imdb page.

Does anyone know any thing about this?

Bloody hell, all they do these days is remakes it seems. Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, A Childs Play ...

Now they're killing The Birds. It's pretty pathetic.

No idea but he pulled off Transformers (more the first movie than the new one) and nobody thought anyone could pull off Transformers and make it good in live action. Considering this I would give Bay the benefit of the doubt on this and lets just all be thankful M. Night Shyamalan isnt involved (at least I dont think he is).

I have no idea about it but this movie era being the hellhole it is, I will not go to the movies to watch it.

Not to mention Micheal Bay has roughly half the population of sane people ready to put a stiletto through his cranium.

Ok I agree that movie makers today in general have something against creativity but what the heck is wrong with Michael Bay? Ok yeah he is a bit of a jerk but so is everyone else who spends extended amounts of time in or around Hollywood.

The Birds is my least favorite of Hitchcock's movies that I've seen. Honestly, I thought it was pretty bad (at least for one of his productions, if not for movies in general).

I can't imagine how much worse Michael Bay would actually make that movie. That much suck...it's unfathomable until one sees it.

I would be more worried about how many killer birds will CGI battle with huge explosions.
Just pray that half of the movie isn't about Shia LaBeouf wanting sex.

Oh god, one of my favourite Hitchcock movies is about to be stuffed into a woodchipper.

You see Birds was actually the first Hitchcock movie I saw. Since then I have seen Rear Window and Vertigo. Only Rear Window had a satisfying ending (I wont spoil anything beyond that).

What worries me is that Bay gets the military involved in all of his movies and I really would rather not see the military trying to shoot down birds.

They kind of remake (or maybe just inspired by) Rear Window with Disturbia back in 2007 was terrible and if the trend stays true, the remake of the Birds is going to be pretty bad.

Honestly, I expected them to remake Vertigo if anything.

I can accept Bay making it, hell I might even watch it.
The only thing I won't accept happening to this classic film is if Shia LaBeouf is in it, that would destroy it.

Knowing Michael Bay he's going to turn it into a romance story where the constant threat of being pecked to death takes a back seat.

I dont have imdb pro so I cant see the details but here is what was written on google:

"Directed by Martin Campbell. With George Clooney, Naomi Watts. A remake of Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 thriller about a flock of birds that take over a quiet ..."
