i have heard about that one for over a year now, yeah, i think it´s stupid, but Mr Bay said he wanted to get away from his "action movies" niche, weird, when i first heard about that i thought "expoloding birds... cool" haha

your kidding me right I can understand wanting to revive a movie franchise *cough*make money*cough* but why would Michael bay even go near this he just can`t do suspense although a swarm of CGI birds would look cool I have to admit.

Michael Bay?
How are killer birds going to explode?
No idea but he pulled off Transformers (more the first movie than the new one) and nobody thought anyone could pull off Transformers and make it good in live action. Considering this I would give Bay the benefit of the doubt on this and lets just all be thankful M. Night Shyamalan isnt involved (at least I dont think he is).
Dude, Shyamalan would be perfect for this movie. His directorial skills are brilliant, it's just his writing sucks. An adaptation would be where he shines.

Michael Bay didn't pull off Transformers. The first one was terrible, I walked out of the theater.

guh! I fucking hate remakes. Like I've said before, remakes are always shitty attempts to bring a clasic film to a "newer generation" that always fail because they never get the right people to do it. If these people really wanted to bring a classic movie to a "newer generation" it seems like a re-release would be more effective as long as they don't CGI it up and say that its "digitally remastered".

Well, I have two thoughts on the matter. One) Alfred Hitchcock was pretty good at horror so remaking one of his cornerstones can't be all bad. Two) How could Michael Bay possibly fit into this? He's not a horror, thriller, or even suspense movie director. Explosions are about as wholesome as films get these days without crossing some cultural/theological border.

All in all what I'm saying is that this is like trying to mix Bananas with Refried Beans. Confused vomit ensues.

That's all well and (argueably) good, but theres a bit of a difference between Transformers and The Birds don't you think?

I've never understood why film-makers feel the need to remake perfectly good films. The remake of Rear Window with Christopher "Superman" Reeve was shit. The remake of Psycho was pointless. And that's just Hitchcock. I mean, The Ladykillers - why? It was great first time around. Same with The Wicker Man.

Hollywood needs to start remaking films that were a good idea done badly - for example, Westworld. Or The Omega Man. Oh no, they already did that - it was called I Am Legend. Should've been called I Am A Good Film For The First Hour But I Have A Horribly Compromised Ending.

Am I the only one that thought of the dude from Naruto that created birds from exploding clay?

I bet this is what will happen. Right down to the character

exploding and creating a crater with a 10km radius

You see Birds was actually the first Hitchcock movie I saw. Since then I have seen Rear Window and Vertigo. Only Rear Window had a satisfying ending (I wont spoil anything beyond that).

What worries me is that Bay gets the military involved in all of his movies and I really would rather not see the military trying to shoot down birds.
Seems like you discovered a option how Bay can make explode something in that movie.

Michael Bay's involvement is enough for me to not question this. We already know what an idiot he can be so I don't even need to guess how this is going to turn out xD.
