I have just been rejected. I won't bore you with the details, but suffice to say, it felt as though all the blood in my body had been frozen into tiny icicles and hammered into my abdomen ( if anyone ever tells you that you feel anything love-related with your heart, slap them, for they are a filthy liar. It's the stomach, or maybe the diaphragm.) So looking at it, they're are two ways this thread could go. I could ask you people to drive the already depressing mood of this thread right into the fucking ground, or I could ask you to cheer me up with happy things and kittens and what-not.
However, I'm going to take a third option. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TakeAThirdOption] If you want to post some depressing rejection stories in this thread, feel free. However, you must post something that increases the mood by an equal or greater amount than the first part reduces it, either through awesomeness, cuteness, or just being funny as fuck. I'll start us off with a link to a Cracked article which I believe is one of the greatest and most terrifying things ever written. [http://www.cracked.com/blog/extra-mario-lopez-has-no-soul/]
That's right bitches [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitlel9hiod7i]. It's Robert Brockway. Word Puncher.
There are plenty more fish in the sea.
But you are a thousand miles from the sea...
In a desert.
Alone.
With a seafood allergy...

haha, I thought you might appreciate a bit of banter :p Besides, I knew somebody would eventually cough up the "plenty more fish" line at some point; I couldn't let something so trite go unanswered!

I think I'll go with something so awesome that nothing could make this thread depressing ever again.

Let's see anyone cancel out THAT awesomeness!

I was told to scrap a 3,500+ word history write up I did for a character on a roleplay site because I did not ask about using a concept first. It sucked, so I moved on. In my moving on I reunited with Zelda OoT, which I have not played in nigh ten years. :D

Mate you are making rejection sound worse than it actually is. You asked a girl out, she said no, oh well, you are not the first to be rejected and I guarantee you shall not be the last. Sure it may feel awful, however did it honesty alter your life? Of course not! Look to the positive, you actually had the gull to ask the girl out instead of sulking in the corner as so many our gender fancies and now you can move on to other, perhaps better girls!

And now I provide you with, overabundance of cuteness!

You can just tell that cats picturing the demise of those birds look into its sullen souless eyes consumed by hunger and feral instinct, cute kitten nay all but an act were it able there would be nothing but bloodied corpses staining the wooden bench. And on the subject of ducks did you know thye reproduce through rape?

Enjoy your picture.

It happens. And I totally know what mean about the whole ice blood stabbing your abdomen. Well, at the very least, you got an answer, yes? At least she didn't leave you hanging with a "maybe" or "I dunno..." coulda been worse, I suppose. Silver lining and shit.

OT: Believe me rejection is the least a girl can do to make you sad, but to cheer you up remember that guys don't have to go though child birth!
you lucky SoBs XD

OT: rejection is a pain in the rear end, but you do eventually get over it. Even if, right now you feel you won't, it'll blow over. Be happy :p

... Now I have the "Happy Happy Joy Joy" song stuck in my head. Damnit.
Yes but you get boobs(they are aesthetically pleasing) and control over most the relationship(at least in my case).
It could be worse you could have "The Song That Never Ends" stuck in your head

OT: To help you get over it movies like American Pie and Forgetting Sarah Marshall help, or at least it did for me, then again so did Harvest Moon and Phoenix Wright.

In High School, I asked out a really cute girl in my creative writing class. She said yes and I was so happy. The next day, she said that her Mom didn't want her to go. I was heartbroken. The worst part was seeing her again everyday for the next 2 years after that. But i picked myself up and moved on. I'm okay with it now. I realized that I have huge brass balls and I won't let this get me down.

Holy crap! That has made my week! Quite possibly my month, though I wouldn't hold out for the year, thanks to the arrival of a new challenger.

What will the judges decision be?

Kittens don't know how to hunt yet, they learn to hunt by playing, but that is all they are capable of at that age. Play.

Ducks reproduce primarily through mated pairs, only 3% of duck offspring are the result of rapes. So take THAT internet killjoy.

I know the feeling. It is one of the worst experiences anyone can go through, being told in essence that "you not are not worthy"(note to people who may quote this, no doc. rictoven(or however you spell that) jokes, please.). The best advice I could give is to not try to figure out why she did it (that road leads only to frustration junction), don't plan any sort of revenge, and most important if you use music to deal with it, don't listen to linkin park. As well crafted as their songs are, they'll just keep reminding you of the pain. Try 'Float on' by modest mouse. Its up beat and cheerful, just what the heart broken needs(you can even use the line "We'll all float on all right" as your mantra).

As stated a million times, there's way worse situations you could be in. You could be homeless, at war, have leprosy, and so on. There's plenty to be thankful that didn't happen to you. Most of which will put into perspective of how little being rejected matters in life.
