Prototype. I really wanted to like it but...too many flaws to allow me to do that. :(

Also, Castlevania. So many people told me I would like it so I finally gave it a shot. Tried Lament of Innocence and just couldn't get into it, no matter how hard I tried.

Mmm. Good one. I tried to like it, and I actually really enjoyed running around the buildings, making a dick out of myself. But anytime I tried to shovel my way through the story, I lost the will to live. None of the characters were likeable, I didn't feel sorry for the chap or the girl and I didn't even feel sorry for the people of New York. It was the boss battles that did it though. The first time you fight that girl? Ridiculous. You have to kill her like 9 times or something? I don't need that in my life.

Also, Mirror's Edge. It was a nice idea and when you actually got into the flow of jumping around on the rooftops, it was veyr fun. At least enough to see me through to the end. But the story is the weakest in the history of storytelling. Seriously, there's like a mayor who is evil and his bodygaurd tells someone to frame a policewoman whos your sister to kill some other dude for no real reason. Then you blow up a helicopter, the game ends with no closure, no cliffhanger. I'm reluctant to even call it an ending. It feels like half a game and the story needs more... backstory I suppose and it just isn't well thought out. Why does the mayor have all the power? What happened to the government and why does this guy matter? Why are we running about with suitcases? Why did that guy blow up at the end and who was he? Who was the other guy? Who was the fat guy? Who was that girl? Why did the officers start following me at one point and kicking me in the face if I stopped for more than a second? I want to call it fun, but they just ruined it.

For example, Battlefield 2 was a game I had very mixed opinions with. When this game was fun, it was very fun. Going on a killing spree in a tank, blowing up a low-flying chopper with C4, or dominating the enemy with your 5-man squad were some of the most epic moments of gaming. But that was only about 20% of the time. The other 80% was either mediocre or simply maddening. So many bad design choices, like indestructable claymore mines, overpowered vehicles, and poor connections. Plus, the simple fact that the maps were so huge could lead to a 5 minute walk to an enemy flag only to be instakilled by a sniper or bombing run. The fact that the game had a very immature community didn't help either, with teamkillers a common sight and teamwork a rarity.

Still, I couldn't give it up. I lived for those moments of pure awesome when everything worked out right. An addicting level system with unlockable weapons helped too.
I agree with you 100%. I loved the Battlefield games and BF2 just seemed to be the culmination of all the brilliant elements from each game brought into the latest generation in a Modern Combat Package. Playing in a Squad of Clan match was intense. General pubbing however was pretty poor. Especially 5/6 months after the games initial release. I tried to keep playing it but people were more concerned with their kill count and dolphin diving that team-score. So.. I dropped my addiction.

Mass Effect for me. Tried to get into it from all the amazing things I heard from my friends about it, but still at the citadel and haven't played since. As for a game that I played through even if I hated it, it would have to be Dead Rising. Got bored of killing the zombies pretty quickly, but just liked seeing the blood fly.
