Cortana is an AI. Rampancy has, and excuse this half-pun, run rampant through Bungie series since Marathon. She's reached her seventh year. This is where Bungie was leading to anyway. They've had it in all the fluff, so they're not shitting on her. They would be shitting on her if they didn't do it. And the Elite's I can understand you being pissed by. I am too... Hopefully they do something about that.Vrex360 said:I am not a fan of Black ops or Call of Duty, so that's out.
However Halo 4 has broken my heart in so many ways. Having seen some of the footage and heard details about it I can honestly say that it's very far away from the original formula. None of the old charm seems present, I really don't like that they seem to be turning Cortana into a psycho and I SERIOUSLY don't like how the Covenant have somehow returned despite the Elites allying with the humans and all the Prophets being dead. I also am annoyed that the Covenant now appear to just be generic cookie cutter evil alien monsters indistinguishable from the locust or the Ceph or any other evil aliens. In Halo 1, 2 and 3 the Covenant had actually personality and were even humanized to some degree, this is lazy.
But the final straw for me, the thing I can never forgive is 343 removing the Elites from multiplayer!!! Maybe the elites have only been removed from competative multiplayer (the article didn't specify) but so far we've seen no proof that you can play as Elites in custom games. Maybe we can but unless I have proof I'm not buying it. Yes, I am that petty. I'm sorry but being an Elite in mutliplayer was awesome. Not many games let me play as a reptilian alien as an option instead of boring old super human in a cyber suit, this was the reason why I preffered Halo to every other multiplayer game out there and now Halo 4 has decided to remove that.
So yes I am not a fan of Call of Duty but I cannot support Halo 4. Not if it really is just going to kill everything I loved about Halo in the process. Shitting on characters I loved, dubious retcons, multiplayer desperately trying to ape whatever is popular and sacrificing the things that made Halo genuienly unique to do it. Not happy about it.
Agreed.Terminate421 said:Almost every response in this thread is absolutely wrong and disappointing. The typical response is, "Neither, I played a call of duty game and didn't like it, and since I have never played a Halo game and it is a shooter it must be bad! Go buy X game!"
He asked one fucking question of which one to buy and you guys had to be the most immature I've ever seen since the Aurora Massacre thread.
Go buy Halo 4 first, it will have the most change amongst the two games and it'll still be relatively fun.

"You see man, those games are made like by, the corporations and stuff man. You see the corporations will turn you into their, like, economic tool and junk bro. ...you got any more weed?"
On a serious note Im really just expecting "More of the same as the last more of the same" from both these games. Halo started to repeat under its original studio, so im skeptical they can make the game seem fresh again especially considering it will be the 4th major Halo release this generation never-mind overall.
To be fair, it'd be canonically wrong to let Cortana stay sane and not go rampant like most AIs. I'm all for it since it could help characterization of the supposed blank Chief and Cortana herself. The rest? I completely agree. Taking out the Sangheili is heresy!Vrex360 said:I really don't like that they seem to be turning Cortana into a psycho
