I do play Counter Strike. Lots of it. And it's way better than these CoD games. More balanced, more tactical, more fun. CoD multiplayer allows only up to 18 people online and only in some mods. CS allows more than 30 people.
I was only joking, but if you feel that way go and play CS and leave us who are looking forward to it to talk about it, just seems like the obvious thing to do.

You saying how much better CS is over COD, won't make us all rush to download it and abandon COD.

...this is just another Call of Duty game. They haven't changed the formula for these games since the fourth one. There is no fucking reason to let yourselves get hyped about this game! I've decided that I'm not getting this game because I refuse to let them make money off of such mediocrity,
Name ONE series where the gameplay has been substantially changed with each new installment aside from new weapons and enemies.
Assassin's Creed, The Elder Scrolls, Splinter Cell...good game series in other terms.

My point is that until the fourth installment, each of the Call of Dutys made major changes not only to the CoD formula, but to the FPS formula instead. Even the Halo games have made gameplay additions in each game, but Call of Duty is starting to stagnate. At least Modern Warfare 2 added a shitload of attachments and weapons. Black Ops isn't adding anything and if I hand over $70 for a game I expect some fucking quality. No need to get touchy on me, fanboy.
They are adding that theater mode, bots, and the custom stuff/currency. I dunno how much of it counts as gameplay enhancements, but there is some new stuff.

You'd probably get a less touchy response if you didn't say things like "There is no fucking reason to let yourselves get hyped about this game! I've decided that I'm not getting this game because I refuse to let them make money off of such mediocrity". Why not just say it in a nicer, more constructive manner?
They have multiplayer bots for offline psuedo multiplayer fun? That cinches it, I'm buying it.

I was one of the people who happened to pick up MW2 long after it's release and was pleasantly surprised. The campaign was ok, but I loved the multiplayer. The customization was great, really made it fun to play so I unlocked new stuff. Now that they're adding more unlockables and more cuztomization I'm very excited. Either way, I will withold my judgement and suspicions until I've played it.

Good luck, Treyarch.

I'm not too interested thanks to MW2. Depends how the multiplayer will be. I didn't like the controls on PC for MW2. It looked like a good console game, but not for PC for me. But around 12:10 in the video, they show the Motion Cap actors. That's pretty interesting! Thanks!

Enslaved did face captions way better. Either way, Call of Duty lost any resemblance of relevance around the time Call of Duty 4 was released.
Keep in mind Andy Serkis did the motion capture for that and he's very familiar with the technique (Gollum from lord of the rings and King Kong in the remake)

But on the video it seems pretty good, lot of indivudality for each player in multiplayer and singleplayer looks to be following a good style (WaW had my favourite campaign out of the last three games)

May well get this now since Medal of Honor has already filled my disappointment quota

You can't take my right to complain :)

But I'm not complaining that CoD isn't CS. I just want it to be more balanced. I didn't write it off completely yet. I'll wait for user reviews. If they're good I might get it later on. Money was never an issue. It's a matter of principle.

By all means complain, I am just saying pick your thread. I don't think this is the right thread for debating the principles of it, I think it's more of a discussing that video thread.

A thread titled something like "what do you think of the COD series" would be much better thread to do it in.

I guess it is down to personal opinion though, not trying to be a mod or anything, I just want it to be on topic as much as possible.

Looks incredible, I still prefer Final Fantasy XIII's graphics, though. As for the game it's been a day one purchase for me for a long time... even if I do end up trading it in a few weeks later.

Call of Duty lost me at the fouth one.

The campaign was okay but the multiplayet just made me want to play Battlefield 2, so I did.

Probably won't get this unless something magical happends.
