When a debate is part of what is defined as a discussion, how can you still claim that he's not discussing this? Seriously, are you just feeling offended because he doesn't like something you like or what?
He was reacting to a very antagonistic post that was basically telling people they were stupid for being excited about the game. He has every right.

Leave him alone, get off my thread and stop trolling people.
I admit that the dude wasn't expressing his opinion in the best of ways, but in later posts he showed that he wasn't just all "durr cod sux" but actually had reasons for not liking the game.

I'm trolling? Are you stupid or something?

Pic highly related, that's how I picture you right now... My god, when will people on this site realize what trolling actually is, rather than just crying troll at everyone who says something they can't agree with?
Whats your problem? You have yet to post anything but insults to other users and closest you have come to talking about this game is "durr cod sux" and that wasn't anyway close to being on topic either.

So from what I understand of trolling, your doing it pretty damn blatantly and you should just stop posting in this thread.

(really wanted to post an insulting vid to this but it's not worth it)
Nope, I haven't said a single word related to the game. NOT. A. SINGLE. WORD.

I've read up on some of the multiplayer stuff, and as a friend of mine described it; "This will be the game that Modern Warfare 2 failed to be". Not too keen on vehicle sections, Treyarch have proven that they are terrible at creating them before, well, no one except for Bungie can make good vehicle sections it seems. Hearing that there will be more than one of them isn't exactly a positive in my book...
That quote is nothing but one giant lie that has never happened.
It was a hyperbole, out of all the insulting posts, you put aside 3 lines to make a comment on the actual game.

Those animations were beautiful. So beautiful.

I don't think they'll pull off a better campaign than MW2 (cause that's impossible *wink*), but, man, does this look fucking solid.

Oh, and the only thing I hate is that the wager matches are gamble-only. Because, imo, that one bullet thing was ingenious.

Daaamn, and the theatre mode... What are you doing to me, Treyarch? Have you no shame?

You're a strange little man, getting your kicks from insulting people on the internet.

Please find a different way to argue your point than using picture memes and insults. We won't see eye to eye otherwise.

Which means that your comparison was just plain stupid in other words. What does a game from the 90s still being 'good' have to do with that they shouldn't change their formula? With that argument, we should all just stick with playing Wolfenstein 3D for all eternity, then.
I know people who still do play Wolfenstein. Because it's STILL FUN.

I'm beginning to think you're being contrary just for the sake of getting some attention.

However, bear in mind that a large proportion of that video was cutscenes and scripted sequences.
That's basically Call Of Duty for you. It's all it ever has been.

As for the the gameplay, it's yet another first person shooter. I have clicked on hundreds of thousands of little pixel men in other games just like this one. So why would I buy Black Ops? So I can click on a few thousand more little pixel men? I think not.
You just summed up every FPS ever. By this logic Doom is no different to Call Of Duty. Neither is Red Orchestra.

You can do this with every genre.

What sort of huge changes are those?
New currency system - earn points through playing and spend it on attachments, camos etc... then gamble your points in specially made wager matches with 4 different game types

Contracts - complete certain objectives within a certain time limit for extra currency (I think it's stuff like get 20 headhsots in 3 games, things like that)

One In The Chamber game mode - each player has one bullet, you get another bullet for a kill

Interactive maps - for example one map has a rocket launch near the end of each game that will fry anyone near the rocket

Gun Game - guns randomly switch every 30 seconds

New set of weapons, perks etc...

No Stopping Power or Juggernaut (this is a big game changer for COD)

New setting that to my knowledge hasn't been in any other shooter yet

Training mode for the multiplayer against bots

Huge amounts of new customisation options

Fully controllable vehicle sections (a first for the modern cod games)

EDIT: And how could I forget - a Halo style Theatre mode... c'mon man, these are huge changes for the series!

Have to correct you there - not really.

Call Of Duty 3 had you driving cars.

Okay, maybe that wasn't fully controlled, but what the hell do I know.

And the Theatre mode?

I remembered that and fixed it just as you were correcting me :D

That's a fair step up I suppose. If it's balanced in any way I'll eat my own face though.

Also:

What is this thing with bots? It's hardly a new thing.

"New setting that to my knowledge hasn't been in any other shooter yet"

Which is what?

Well, the bots are a new thing for the series. I

But, yeah, the setting's widely explored:

Vietnam - any Vietnam game

Cuba - Godfather 2: The Game

Cold War - well, Cold War

I'll be very surprised if it is. And I might cry a little happy tear. I already know there's stuff in it that's going to piss me off though, nameably the RC Car and Second Chance.

The Cold War espionage setting.

As for the bots and the new theatre mode, yep they've been done in other games but never in COD. It sounds like a much better way to help new players than stupid deathstreaks.

Sounds good. That One In The Chamber sounds like it'd be a lot of fun. Hell, if Commando with a slightly reduced lunge range was included in this, One In The Chamber could be one of the most intense game modes in any shooter, ever.

Gun Game sounds good, although I'm a little saddened it isn't the same as the CSS Gun Game. The day I discovered Gun Game was the day I started playing CSS for hours on end.

No more getting killed by 2 bullets from the UMP? The no-talent players of the game will be shit outta luck for a while then. Although if they include the Famas I suppose I won't be able to use it anymore. There was nothing quite as satisfying as killing someone at long range with a single burst from a silenced and stopping powered Famas.

I thank you for the news good sir. I haven't been paying much attention to this game lately as I've been following other things, but it's looking very good at the moment.

It's hard to try and argue something with a person who cries troll at everyone who disagrees with him in any other manner than using large pictures with simple text. Gotta make sure of that you understand, after all. I've already had the discussion on what is and isn't trolling a couple of hundred times on The Escapist, or so it feels like at least by now...

Your argument on that people still play Wolfenstein or Doom or whatever still makes no sense in this context. It's irrelevant and proves absolutely nothing.
It proves that a fun formula for a game (i.e. move, aim, shoot) will stand the test of time and still be fun after many years and does not need constant innovation to remain fun.

How on earth is this so hard for you to understand??

There was an espionage game called Cold War. Guess where it took place?

Okay, the story there was completely, off-the-charts retarded, so that almost doesn't count.

Miracle messed up a bit. The "switch every 30 second" is a totally different game mode in Wager. The one called Gun Game is, in fact, the CSS gungame.

The Counter Strike mode is in there too! As in, you switch weapons when you get a kill. I might have the names mixed up actually.

And the guns have had recoil put back on them too, so yeah, no more easy cross map snipes with the Famas.

There you go... what Journey said. Gun game is the Counter Strike one.

Must.Buy.Black Ops.

Also, recoil sounds good then. But no more Famas being quite as awesome. Although, maybe if you put the sight over the enemies thighs/midsection you'd be able to get the other 2 bullets to hit them as well.

Also, do you know if quick scoping will be in this game? Whilst I don't particularly have all that much of a problem with it and it's not all that common, it's beyond fucking ridiculous sometimes when a game loads up and you're playing on a team of all quick scopers. And being abused for using a sniper rifle properly can get mildly irritating.

It depends on the game, doesn't it? Sometimes simplicity works forever... look at Mario and Zelda, they've hardly changed in years and are still loved.

Leave the innovation to games like Mirror's Edge, Portal, Mass Effect.... I like my Call Of Duty to be simple, straightforward fun.

The Famas is full auto now, it'll handle more like the G36C from COD4 by the looks of it.

Sleight of Hand Pro increases aim down sights time but not for Snipers.
