Just came across this on YouTube.

I've already left my comment on YouTube itself which was, "This is the dumbest fu**ing video I've seen in a long time and really disappointing coming from this channel. It was an advert to sell a video game and the reason they had regular people using weapons with that slogan was to say, "hey, you too can play this game. Please buy it". Jesus fu**ing Christ. Oh, and what's more immoral, playing a war game or actually participating in an illegal war for real? Idiots."

Continuing here, this seriously made me so angry and Call of Duty is not even a series I've ever played or am ever likely to play. It disturbs me that they so blatantly missed the point of the advert from the marketing point of view and were implying some kind of sinister agenda because the people in the video hold the guns just like "insurgents" do. I mean that's just ludicrous. Also, while they didn't actually offer any solution to this "problem" I definately came away with the feeling that they'd like to see it censored here in the West too. Why? Well because it suggests anyone can be a soldier... But going off to become a real soldier, that's much more acceptable. Disgusting.

Thoughts?

Wow. What a bunch of whiny ass hats these two people are. The media picked this guy out because he would agree with their point of view, and he is a douche for it. Any normal person would see this ad at face value and not read into it like they have done in the clip. Media fear mongering and sensationalizing...gotta love it.

Now this is stupidity.

I mean, come on! Its an ADVERTISEMENT FOR F*CKS SAKE!

ITS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GAMES CONTENT!

Play the game, then make a report about it.

That is true. Not everyone can be a soldier. However, the overwhelming majority of people can be a soldier.

What they really ought to say is that "Not everyone can be a good soldier". Being a soldier simply means that you are capable of acting as a mobile and intelligent weapon system on the battlefield. It doesn't matter if you're particularly proficient at it. Not everyone can be an Ace fighter pilot in World War 2 and yet untold thousands of people were fighter pilots in spite of that.

In much the same fashion most anyone can be a fencer but not everyone can be a good fencer. For example, I have an enormous advantage over a wheelchair bound fencer that means a wheelchair bound fencer would have to be extraordinarily proficient to best an average fully mobile fencer. In much the same fashion a blind individual can still be a mobile and intelligent weapon system, they're just going to be far less proficient at most tasks.

Speaking as someone who has served, this guy really needs to get over himself. He's clearly retarded.

honsetly, im partially on the side of the show here. I mean not that viloent video games should be banned, but this commercial is a fucking disgrace. it has no connection to the game and is built to singlehandedly create controversy to promote the CoD franchise. Its the same as with the no russian.

also if its a game keep it that way, but by showing kids and ppl who know how to clear a building thats just implying that video games teach you how to kill.

So for anyone to lazy to read the above, ad sucks because it is not about the game and just stirs up unnesseary controvery.

Wow...everyone in that video is wasting my precious oxygen fueling their inane, tiny little minds. Jimmy Kimmel, hit'em with the n00b tube!

I enjoyed the ad, thought it had a really cool take on avatars in video games. I mean, everyone looks like a terrorist or a soldier, but you don't know if you're playing against a 70-year-old grandma. Now I really wish they had an old lady kicking ass in it.

"Everyone can be a soldier" IN THIS GAME. How can you miss that so bad?

Oh, and, hello, Russia Today? I would be dissapointed in you, but I have already seen your broadcasts while on vacations.

They are mimicking insurgents? Seriously? That's the best you could come up with, mate?

Also, "blacks op"... Ahaha.

Do you know how much Activision gave to the veterans, guys? Yeah. You might want to look at that.

"Selling Death"?... Seriously?!

Bull-fucking-shit.
This from a Country that legally sells firearms. Oh, the irony!

Honestly, this is idiotic. The commercial was a mock representation that anyone could play Call of Duty, the game was universally accessible and exhilarating enough that regardless of your profession or station in life, you would have a thoroughly entertaining experience. This is no more of an insult to soldiers than children who dress up as them for Halloween. The hilarity of the woman citing the series further documents how little the media researches prior to spewing their bias nonsense. Only one County in the world have ever banned a Call of Duty game and only CoD 4.

That ad should have seen it coming. Sure, those guys were idiots, but that was a pretty iffy commercial. If they were smarter about it, they would have just shown various people playing the game.
And I'm sure the advertisers and Treyarch care so much what a bunch of misinformed idiots think.
