I guess I'm an idiot, because I thought he was real until you see Mason kill Steiner. When the guy in the tunnel called me insane, I thought he was just being a douchebag.

When you were in the rat tunnels and Reznov jumps down and Mason's all "I was going to shoot you" and the solider goes "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
I was messing with my flashlight at the time, so I thought he was just reacting to my flickering of the light. Otherwise, I may have noticed earlier.
Yeah I was just right next to him and when he asked me that I said to myself, "What? I'm waiting for you to die like in that E3 presentation." So I didn't notice that bit there. Along with that I didn't notice any of the plot twists.

Edit:

I was disappointed. I mean, come on, he didn't really die in the jailbreak, did he? They can't kill off the coolest character they've ever had. It would be like Infinity Ward killing off Price.
No Miracle, he's real and alive, he was with you in Vietnam, Rebirth and taking the Rusalka.

Kinda reminded me of fight club. I was pretty sure I saw it early on, but dismissed it for being too dumb a twist. Only Fight Club did it well. I liked Reznov though.

I like how Reznov and Dimitri are returning characters.
I actually thought of fight club too when the twist came, and I honestly thought they did a excellent job handling it.

I was wondering what was going on the whole game but that scene changed my opinion of the game.

It's Call of Duty, they spend all the time making sure they save as much money as they can to help Bobby Kotick make more of a profit.

I figured it out before the mission you go in to kill Steiner.

The real twist that caught me off guard was finding out Mason killed Kennedy. That was catchy.

"YOU TRIED TO MAKE ME KILL MY PRESIDENT, YOU BASTARD!!"

"Tried...?" *dies*

Ending cutscene showed historical footage of Kennedy - with Mason in the crowd. Kind of meh. Kennedy assasination conspiracies are old hat.

I figured out Reznov wasn't actually with me in Vietnam when Hudson broadcasted it by constantly asking about him, and the creepy 'they all must die' echoey speech they kept doing.

Right at the end before Mason kills the main bad guy, he sys

Mason: "You tried to make me kill my President, you failed!"
Russian Guy: "Did I?"

Then just before the credits you see a film clip of Kennedy's assassination. After the actual shooting it rewinds to when Kennedy just got off the plane and you see Mason in the crowd with ominous music playing, 'subtly' suggesting Mason was the real assassin.

It wasn't supposed to be subtle. It was supposed to just come out of nowhere and then as soon as they start saying, "What are you doing" you start to realize.

It was the most obvious twist ever.

I called it pretty early.
I was 100% when no one mentioned him in the Nam mission.

I thought the exact same thing. When my friend informed me he'd beaten the game, he even said "They pulled a "Fight Club"".

OT: I suspected he was a hallucination after the second time I saw him, though. The informant thing worked well, but after that I felt it became a little obvious.

In my opinion, Treyarch should have stopped jumping from scene to scene to scene, and just have stuck with a single continuous storyline. And enough with the flash-backs! They are WAY too overused!

At first I just wen't with it. There were so many diffrent plot elements going on I didn't even notice Reznov wasen't real until the last minute. Even before that at one point I thought Reznov and Mason looked alike for some reason.

Well considering I have been disappointed with the plot in MW (which was okay, but not great) and MW2 (ugh) I wasn't expecting all that much from BO. I saw the brainwash plot point coming a mile off, and I knew that Reznov was not there, but at the same time I didn't believe that a Call of Duty game could provide a storyline involving that sort of thing. I mean, brainwashing, chemical warfare, scizophrenia? So I just assumed it was either some sort of plothole or that it was leading up to Reznov betraying you. I'm actually really impressed that they took a risk and went on such an interesting tangent.

And Mason killed JFK? Is that what the ending cinematic means? Because while drowning/choking *insert Russian guys name here* Mason is bitching at him for fucking with his mind and mentioned that he tried to make him kill the President. And the guy replies "Tried?" with a sneer. Then at the end you get the little replay of JFK's final moments and it rewinds to Mason in the crowd...

On the point of Mason killing Kennedy, when Mason was walking around after knocking out Hudson, he says something about "Oswald...compromised". Does that name ring any bells in regards to Kennedy? [/rhetoric]

And actually, I didn't see Reznov not being there either, although I did always wonder how he did manage to escape after being recaptured. As it turns out, he didn't.
