Sonic's final smash isn't over-powered. Metaknight is the most over-powered character in the game.

For me, it's probably how over-powered some of the weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are, namely the Akimbo FMG9s and the Type-95 Rapid-Fire.
Yes but Metaknights final smash is weak and can easily be dodged. Plus I never have any problems with fighting him. Bot or friends.
Over powered? Lucas's is instakilling game breaking over powered, at least ness has the option to avoid it. The only way to survive lucas is to use the "turn into a rock" move that Kirby has.

Lets not forget about Ike's.......

Meta Knight takes a fair deal of skill to use, if you use it right, you can get insta-kills you have earned.

Sonic's is a mix for me.
Eh, my friend is a big time Lucas user, so I've got the down-Z dodge to an art form when it comes to Lucas' final smash. Ike however, no matter what I do, he always gets that damn AAA combo on me. Definitely have to vote for him on this one.

Wesker in UMVC3. Not sure if that last patch a few days ago did jack to him but he has:

High health, high speed with a load of teleports just for extra lols, high bloody damage, an piss easy downward gunshot that hits OTG to extend combos (can be used multiple times and as an assist.)

Oh and who could forget Maximum Wesker? It's a full screen hyper that randomly crosses up (you blocked it? Tough shit) and can be near impossible to punish if he knows what he's doing. Oh yeah if his glasses get broken (or taken off as part of Maximum Wesker's introduction) he has permanent Lvl 1 X Factor, so he gets even MORE damage and speed.

It also stacks with regular X Factor so he's the only character in the game who can reach Lvl 4 X Factor.

It's a proven fact that any team, no matter how difficult WILL work if you add Wesker to it.

Did i forget anything?
Yeah, the most recent patch didn't change anything. For anyone.

Jeffery from Lord of the Rings: War of the North or whatever it's called. I haven't played the game myself, but I'll just post a video that kinda goes over how over-powered he is, among other things.

I'm gonna bring in League of Legends and mention Tryndamere.
Now, before anyone gets their tighty whities bunched up lemme explain my reasoning.

I don't take issue with the fact he does a lot of damage, he IS a damage dealing character.
I don't take issue with the fact he can go completely invincible for 5 seconds without any cost (Ok maybe a little but that's just because it seems cheap, not OP)

My problem lies in the combination of said powers

For each 1% health he's missing he gains attack power.
For each 1% Fury he has he gains Crit rate.
When he uses his ultimate, he has 100% fury, and <2% hp, and CAN'T be killed for 5 seconds, within these 5 seconds he can (if used well) win a 5v1 teamfight.

That alone STILL isn't my issue, my issue is the fact that he can use this WHILE STUNNED (and it has no cost) so there's NOTHING! you can use to stop him from using it, at all.
And he can do this every minute.

In a game where matches can last well over an hour, having this ability finish recharging every minute, it all adds up to OP.

Now, the usual argument is "Just stun him till he finishes using it" which doesn't hold ground, a full 5 seconds of stun is a lot of stun, being able to soak up ALL of that while his teammates wail on you means he's already fulfilled the role of 'tank' better then most any character in the game, a character with one of the highest DPS in the game should NOT be able to tank better then most other characters as well...

Another argument is "Kill Tryndamere last" but that still doesn't hold up, a Trynd built for damage WILL be able to kill any one of your team members in a heartbeat, thats what he was designed to do, so by not attacking him you lose anyway.

I suppose Tryndamere himself probably isn't OP, none of the characters are, but he's too easy to MAKE OP...

I KNOW someone's gonna disagree, probably with "Hurr but Trynd isn't used much in tournament play" or "Hurr, only newbies can't take Trynd" but at the end of the day, he needs a little rebalancing, even a small change like "His ult doesn't give him max fury" (which he can use to heal with by the way) or "His ult can't be used while stunned" would peg this down from OP to just plain old P.

/rant I suppose.
He's not invincible, you just can't get him past one health... If you're getting stomped by Tryndamere, bring along a poison character, or buy Executioners calling. Then hear Tryn's manly tears as he dies whilst running away.

He used to not be able to use it whilst stunned, but that just meant he got all of the CC... and he really doesn't have much defence at all. He's quite squishy really, but he can get back stupid amounts of health through life steal.

Best way to deal with Tryn is soft CC. Slows and roots will keep him from healing up with his life steal, and force him to use Endless Fury before he's even into combat.

Hmmm, okay, I haven't seen a reply about Team Fortress 2 yet, so I'm just going to go and say it.

Two classes, as far as I'm concerned. Demoman (and the sub-class Demoknight) and Soldier. Demoman because he either hurls big splodey grenades at you from miles away with surprisingly unerring accuracy, or he covers the entire map in two seconds with that annoying charge, and seems to survive everything you throw at him.

Soldier, because, quite simply, it's a noob class. I know some experts play Soldier, and they do it well, but I meet them only rarely. Firing missiles with the accuracy of a sniper rifle (with splash damage, I might add), having a ridiculous number of items which improves them to game-breaking point, and their annoying plasma pistols that seem to one-hit other classes.

Pardon my rant, good people.

I think his health growth and W is what makes him OP. -50 damage at level 4 or 5 or something = beat any dps top. And he gets more health growth than tanks do. Stun->Exhaust->Ignite is a dead Trynd. Or get a Frozen heart/Thornmail and Executioners. Really, he isn't that big of a deal unless he is fed.

Oh you Wesker I don't like you at all although playing him procures easy wins.

Lets list all the things that he can do.

Easy OTG: OTGs are always fun thing is it's stupid fast and can be used to start another ground combo WITHOUT ASSIST and comes out to be one of the greatest assist in the game.

Damage and Speed: Fast teles for incredibly easy crossups and dmg are insanely good.

Counter Special: Counter physical attacks = crumple....wut? Watch how quickly a countered ghost rider is DESTROYED after it's jumping S got countered.

High Health: Characters who do the same amount of damage as him are given low health to compensate (i.e Zero, Vergil) not Wesker tho he gets just a little bit less than the behemoths (Nemesis, Hulk, Thor)

Safe Normals: This is the problem right here, not the other things I mentioned, not the Lvl.4 Wesker (although pretty freaking broken a level of X-Factor is only a 30% increase to dmg and speed) IT'S THAT ALMOST ALL HIS NORMALS ARE SAFE ON BLOCK. Seriously that sh** is absolutely garbage. The main reason vergil isn't broken as crap is because NONE ABSOLUTELY NONE OF HIS NORMALS ARE SAFE. Opponent blocked your launch? Oh well just keep smashing Standing L or H and you can go ahead and finish your TOD combo like it was nothing.

Fuck you wesker, fuck your broken abilities.

Soon to be broken? Zero

Yes, Wesker doesnt have high health, he has 1M hp, meaning he has standard health.

High health would be in the 1.2M area, which is occupied exclusively by Thor and Nemesis.

Also ive personally never been able to do it, but ive heard its possible to throw him out of his maximum wesker thing. Personally i prefer to punish the poor idiot who tries that on me while im guarding with a counter hyper or Biohazard Rush.

And right now Weskers dominion is tenuous at best. Players attuned to the metagame are well on thier way to being able to snuff him out with any team, and theyre more than happy to share tips.

Characters that are just overpowered.
BattleToads for the NES, the whole game, nearly unbeatable. the creators must have been evil, as it made kids cry when they constantly lost. it's a prime example of "Nintendo hard". EVERY BOSS in that game are Over Powered.

In Super Smash Bros Brawl this award goes to Sonic and his Final Smash. I am fairly certain his Final Smash is why Smash Orbs were banned in tourneys.
I must admit I hate when people say that Sonic is the reason smash balls were banned when tournaments don't allow any items...

Most overpowered character I can think of right now is Captain Falcon from the first Super Smash Bros. I remember defeating Metal Mario in less than 10 seconds using him and also defeating 3 fairly good friends who were teamed against me.

Hmm, lets see, Tryndamere and Morgana. Those two should be permabanned.
Hello, my name is Trydamere. You appear to have your entire team and a turret on me. I do not give a single fuck.

Morgana's never been that bad for me, to be honest. But, then again, I do normally play Gangplank so I just eat some oranges and get out of her stupid snares, and they're not all that hard to move out of the way of once you've bought some boots.

And while I wouldn't say that Karthus is strictly "overpowered", he's fucking irritating as hell. It's like they designed a character to be expressly annoying. Keeps casting after dead and has an ult that damages every enemy currently alive.

Ok, it's not a character, but it IS stupid OP - Beknighted.

Anyone who plays Magic: The Gathering DotP 2012 knows this new deck, and knows to hate all those who play it.

honestly this is an endless list, so many things are overpowered or imbalanced in games, it basically comes down to a basic problem people have with logic, math and play-testing time
but ill throw a few on the fire.

like the witcher 2 just spec alchemy and trolololol things to death with chain grapeshot ( or your preferred bomb ) and you'll have 0 combat in the game, seriously just spam a button to win any situation even bosses, in fact especially bosses.

any game with a 'pvp' stat instantly unbalances multiple class interactions
it just makes anyone that can benefit from it the most more powerful than they were in relation to everyone else
( i'm talking to you, mmo's )

mechwarrior had massive serious balance issues with equipment, and chassis that could mount jump jets
it is possible in that game to send a gauss attack from an invincible piece of terrain 20% further than anyone can see you or target you from using electronics packages and jumpjets
basically an invisible, unkillable sniper

i'm just going to say it, cod perks and any so-say-balanced game with combat bonuses, unlockables or situational awareness bonuses
that includes some hero abilities in hon, like wraith's ability to see every hero on the map and teleport to him, played well you can gank people while they jungle, or anytime they have less than 50% health or when they retreat from teamfights
just to make it worse, he can speed himself up, fly through trees and slow you too
fortunately he isnt the most powerful dps and rarely comes up because people like big numbers but he is a complete @ss hat if played well

If we want to talk about cooperative multiplayer, honorable mention goes to Roland from Borderlands. With hard hitting assault rifles and ammo regen, the only way it can be easier is if you're partnered with Morty. That gives the team ammo regen, health regen, and a bird that, when power leveled, kills EVERRRYTHING.
oh my dear child come sit down over here and I shall tell you a tale. Yes, Bloodwing can fuck some serious shit up, steal health, pop healing items and ammo without making a kill, daze, poison/burn/electrocute... But where Mordecai TRULY shines is when you have 100% Shield bypass. Those Guardians in Eridian Promontory that seemed horrendously overleveled? Well prepare for an ass-whupping. BAM. One shot, 8k exp. Run this area a couple of times and know true powerlevelling.
