I'm about about to pre-order the limited edition. Sadly, I still can't play online until I get a router that will connect to my PS3. I've never tried Makoto, I might try maining or subbing her.

You should just get an ethernet chord and link it directly like that, it's better for online anyways since wifi means more lag.

Thye didn't nerf Lichi, did they? She was always fun to play as in Calamity Trigger.

Yes they did, she's still very good though and has a lot of options, just fewer blockstrings that last 15 seconds.

I've tried that. That is how I get internet to my room (We don't have a wireless router). The only way for me to do it is to connect directly to the modem, but that isn't feasible. It works great on a friend's router, I might try to get what he has.

Tager is indeed buffed, he gets 50 meter from most of his normal combos now, he actually does damage outside of throws now, he can do his 720 distortion throw from his voltic charge move and he can do the sledge followup off of it too, he can combo after the sledge followup in the corner and he actually doesn't suck in this game, crazy, I know. He's like lower A tier. It's like they took all of Makoto's tiers and gave em to him, since Makoto is quite bad now, her and Tsubaki have been hit the hardest sadly since I like them both.
Great, my friend was already a great Tager before any buffs, now he will wipe the floor even more with me.

i'd actually have prefered if they just released the next game in the series instead of extend. Not sure if i will buy it as i dont think the dlc character stories and relius are worth it.
Still better than Street fighter Expansions though.

Would maybe buy it if there was a cheap dlc-upgrade option to normal BB CS...

Well, we got a free one in the form of CS2 so that's kinda too much to ask.

The main point is the gameplay anyways and there is enough system changes and char changes to warrant a purchase. It's going to be $40 anyways so it's not like most new games out there and it does also contain all the other DLC stuff from CS2 (colors, announcers) plus the redone CT storymode, so it's going to last you more than something like the next Uncharted game for less money.

My Japanese copy was something like twice that yet I still find it worthwhile and completely awesome.

Beyond all that though, the next game will be out in over a year so you won't have anybody to play online with if you stick to CS.

I picked up BlazBlue Continuum Shift about 2 months having never played a BlazBlue fighter before. I liked the whole package, I was surprised to see how different each fighter was in terms of how they handled. Also, the art direction is top notch, the 2D sprite characters have fluid movement and look solid on the various backdrops.

I'm not terribly serious about the game yet, I'd have to play some online to see if getting Continuum Shift Extend is worth my while. I mainly play Continuum Shift as a couch multiplayer game. In the short time I've played, I think I'm best with Lambda and Jin, since they have some nice ranged abilities and I'm not yet up to speed with blocking as fast as I should be.

Online is pretty competitive now since the only people on are the ones who have played CS for all this time (over a year) but with extend more new players will be found. I'm playing it online now and a lot of Japanese people even barely know how to combo so you will be able to have more of a learning environment with it.

I'm not buying it for 1 character i don't yet own and ~4-5 additional story parts. At least not for 40?/$40.
I don't see how it's too much to ask to get it cheaper when i already own most the content it contains.

And i can play it locally with people who do own it anyways.

Well, I suppose it depends on how serious you take the game. For me the balance change is the main big new element of the game, not Relius or the story. Due to that I experience everything being completely new about it, which makes it worth the price tag.

The story is not just these chapters btw, it's them and also all of CT's storymode as well, in a redone style.

Which i also already played in the original game.

I myself like playing fighting games, even have a big collection of them. However i play them rather casually and don't put much effort in learning large combostrings.

The main plot is like in the original game but the way it is told is not. You have not actually seen the CT story yet since it's told completely differently now, there also is redone voice work (all of it) and completely brand new anime cutscenes for it too.

The changes are not about the combos really, it's more about the playstyles, for example with the buffed barrier now you need to approach zoners much more carefully. My main, Bang, has an easier time gaining seals so I can integrate his super mode more in my playstyle than before and one of his air kicks got buffed so I can pick up things not doable before.

Sure, combos are important but they're not everything and certainly not more important than understanding the playstyle. It is this playstyle which is new all across the board and it renews the experience of actually playing the game.

Still not gonna buy it for fullprice. Maybe i'll consider it if it gets cheaper or if i can get it second hand.

If you don't want to buy extend then it is perfectly understandable since the price is still pretty high if the balance changes don't mean much to you, otherwise you may just want to wait for it to drop in price.

Heh, I suppose I find it odd that people think half of what my import is worth is still way too much, even though most new games cost $60 and not $40. Ah well.

Maybe its not that they think its not worth it as such in so far as the quality goes as Blazblue has always felt a polished game to me but many may see it as too expensive if it is not their primary concern at the moment, just something that they like and would eventually like to get such as myself.

My primary focus at the moment is on SCV which although not as technically deep as Blazblue has the advantage for me in that a few friends of mine play it as well so I get to play VS mode offline which I prefer (much better to know you are going to have a great match than go online and hope) that said though thanks for addressing my queries on the issue im sad to hear Makoto got nerfed but that wont stop me playing her the tiers seem to be up and down like a jack in a box in CS anyway so I just play who I like and have fun (although Haku is my second :)

Also youre right about having to play better players to improve thats what I had to do in SC but it does depend on how much someone is better than you if its a complete slaughter you dont really learn a lot however the CS community seemed a nice lot last time I played and I got many tips to improve my technique after a loss, while in Streetfighter 4 I received mostly smack talk if I lost and death threats (ok so only 1) if I won.

I think I will get this game as long as I have the cash as moneys a bit tight at the moment and I have been meaning to get a fighting stick for ages and they arent cheap. I know you dont need one but the amount of fighting games I have plus the ones I am intending to buy this year I think the investment may be worth it, if youre still playing when I get mine will have to give you a match so I can see how manly Bang really is (ill be the cool looking corpse in the corner no doubht)

Has anyone got any advice for me when it comes to fighting lambda?
Usaully I am valkenhayn and sometimes Hakumen but I cannot for the life of me figure out what to do against Lambda. Usaully she will spam her ranged attacks(Swords, swords out of ground and the damn wheel thingy) and I won't even get a chance to stop blocking, if the rare moment arises that I can get out of it then there is no way for me to get to her most of the time.

Usaully she will sword me out of the air into a combo if I jump or use the swords out of the ground thing to stop me if I try going ground.
I have however managed to somehow get out of it and make it to her so that I can attack, although usaully I never have a chance to do much damage since she is so quick.

Any advice for me?

Edit: Also did they change her much in extend, does her playstyle differ now or has she remained much the same? With the exception of the barrier pushback.

She's easy to beat with Haku, just cut her swords and get in, airdash j2C will cut incoming swords.

As for Valk, he's my sub and he's so very strong against her, just harass her with wolfy dashes and stuff, she has no reversals so you get free pressure. Can you do his combos? She should be down in like 3 Valk combos if you go all the way. Also if she jumps you should anti-air with wolf form B.

She's pretty similar in extend, that shoulder tackle with the huge wall-bounce has repeat proration now so she can only do one per combo though.

I'll definitely be playing whenever you get it, it's awesome so I can't really stop lol.
