Amen to that! Dragon Ball FighterZ and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle are better Mvs.C games, than Infinite. Infinite has been nothing but disappointing to me so far, and for some reason I just don't feel interested. The Wykydtron said:ArcSys killing how to pull off an EVO showcase with the Jubei annoucement (CF:EX announcement?) straight into the strangest yet super hype crossover game trailer. If I can make a Terumi/Shadow Labrys team I will be incredibly happy. I'm relatively confident that the two will be on the roster but since this is a four way crossover you never know. I wonder what mechanics they'll pull most from since Under Night, BB and P4A have quite different base mechanics even if they all fit under the fast paced anime air dash fighter umbrella.
Also, for as lukewarm as I am about RWBY as a series (it's alright I guess) the fact that Ruby Rose is playable is great for two reasons. As a stylish girl with a scythe that turns into a gun, she's a good fit for a fighting game no matter what and more importantly, I see RWBY fans who have no interest in fighting games now all over Cross Tag just because some RWBY characters are in it. This is exactly the same way I got into UMVC3, my first real fighting game and eventually onto other games in the genre. For a genre as niche as a fighting game, this is a great way to get people interested in the genre without dumbing down games for the sake of ease of access. They'll fight through learning the mechanics for the sake of getting good with their mascot character of choice.
Meanwhile Capcom has some guy playing a few new characters in Marvel Infinite saying how it's totally cool guys I promise! My god, how does a Marvel game generate so little hype when the previous Marvel game was objectively the most hype videogame to ever exist. Capcom get your shit together...
Yeah it's super disheartening that Infinite looks like a massive dud right now. UMVC3 is very close to my heart and it sucks to see the followup game, a game that by all rights shouldn't even exist considering how Marvel decided to cut ties with the MvC franchise a few years ago because Disney Money(TM), looks pretty damn bad. Hell, UMVC3 fucking characterised the recent fighting game landscape ever since it's release!CoCage said:Amen to that! I mean maybe it's just the fact that I play Terumi whose OD combos are arguably the best in the game but the fact that I can use a raw OD to I-frame something and do between 5000 to 8000 damage with basically nothing that they can do to stop me if I picked the right move to OD through sounds just like an X-Factor style comeback to me. God bless the new 4D > j2D loops. The fact that it's tied to Burst is just good from a balancing perspective since most of the universal mechanics are tied to meter use and dropping OD onto that would have been awful.Dreiko said:The comeback mechanics are just a capcom thing really. SF4 had those supers that charged as you got hit. BB has been kinda going its own way, since it had bursts before marvel and OD is an evolution of that burst system.
Btw, if anyone here's interested, we have made a discord for this game, so feel free to join!

I'd hate to say this but... I consider this karma against Capcom. For years they were treating fans of any franchise outside of Street Fighter and Resident Evil like crap. The Wykydtron said:Meanwhile Capcom has some guy playing a few new characters in Marvel Infinite saying how it's totally cool guys I promise! I'm not sure if that's actually the case or not, we will have to see when Infinite cmomes out what player numbers are likeDreiko said:As far as the communities go, the capcom and arcsys fans have mostly been separate sub-groups, so while I always kinda was amazed by the popularity of the inferior games they put out, I never really know how bad they were for their fans until relatively recently.
In my eyes, I just see this as people waking up and accepting the reality of which games are better and putting aside their emotional attachment to a series just because of the title it has lol.

OT: I was hyped when this was shown. Seeing Hyde and Ragna fight each other was intersting and i can imagine some character synergies. My main complaint, very minor, is RWBY's inclusion; power level wise, RWBY deals with less powerful enemies and abilities compared to Blazblue's time warping, world ending powers so RWBY seems a bit odd in comparison
