kage had little to do as everyone gathered. Standing off to the side he just kept an eye on everyone. Ken finally showed up as well, and he brought her with him. Even despite being told multiple times he refused to listen, even as Brad told him one more. This shinigami was as stubborn as he was stupid.
Just then though a rift to the gargantua opened right there in the training center. Before anyone else could react, an arm shot through and snatched the girl. Not even Ken had time to react as his girlfriend was dragged into the portal and disappeared from sight.
"KARI!!!" Ken screamed after her, trying to grab her and failing miserably. She was gone before he got close. He continued calling after her until he was reduced to crying like a child who lost a toy, but then he changed. HIs sorrow turned to anger and he grabbed his zanpakuto, what there was of it, and stabbed himself with it.
"What the hell?" Kage said out loud as he watched Ken begin his transformation. This he recongised, as not a half hour before he'd done this same thing, but this was different. Before Ken had changed, but this was a whole new transformation.
A gust of wind blew his clothing off and kicked up clouds of dust. Kage shielded his eyes until the wind subsided, peering through his fingers at the new form. Scaled, winged, and much bigger, Ken has become a dragon this time, and was completely out of control. Roaring out in his anguish he bolted towards the portal. The blatant disregard in his eyes, the single focus. He was going after the human and taking out anyone in his path, foe or friend.
"GLEAM!" Kage yelled out as he grabbed his blade. Before he had even drawn, his zanpakuto transformed. The cord snaked quickly out of the end, wrapping around his arm as the sleeve of the arm that grabbed it disappeared up to the shoulder. He leapt backwards and drew out the dagger-sized blade while Brad moved in to attack, suddenly releasing his bankai as well.
"Whoa..." Kage said in disbelief. Two people had just achieved the ultimate power that most captains hadn't even achieved. This fight was far and above his capabilities.
"Gleam, we are out of our league here. TIme to disappear. Kyokko!" He said outloud, emphasizing the bakudo for added effect. He wasn't worried about being heard, using his shunpo to get away and then vanishing. From the other side of the training center, he could still see the fight, but he wasn't getting in the middle of that.
"I know you don't like her, but she was just taken by a hollow. Don't you have a job to do?" her voice spoke in the back of his head. Scowling a bit, he couldn't argue.
"Shinigami protect humans from hollows. Even if this was his stupid mistake, we have to clean up the mess." Kage admitted. So now she was going to be with them in Hueco Mundo whether he liked it or not, and he definitely did not. And for that matter, he didn't want Ken there either. If anyone was going to be a liability, it was going to be this squad 11 reaper.
