While in GameStop, I was just about done buying Red Faction: Guerrilla, and man walked in a started talking with a worker. He then mentioned that they might make a Xbox 360 with a Blue Ray player. My friend, a huge PS3 fan, started yelling things such as "LIES!" and "BLASPHEMY!". So can anyone prove or deny this? It would be helpful because it can put my friend at ease.

You really believe it just because "some guy" said it? What if I told you that Microsoft just bankrupted? Make a thread about it, nao!

Also, there's no way, atleast not soon. Blu-Ray was developed and is owned by Sony.

Other than that, um i dont see how its possible. It would require sony to work with MS, oh no! haha, who knows, if its profitable for both it could happen.
No, their fans would tear them to pieces...

Anything's possible, but I personally don't see Microsoft actually putting a BluRay player in a 360 after seeing how costly it's been for Sony. Would be even more costly for them.

it's been a rumour and speculation for a long time. tho i highly doubt it will happen as the 360 with built in hd-dvd never happened and m$ was backing hd-dvd which was a huge failure

I doubt it. Microsoft wouldn't want to pay SONY royalties to make Blu-Ray games. Perhaps next generation when such royalties would be cheaper. However, MSFT do love their DL games, so perhaps thats what we could be seeing soon.

The 360 will never addapt Blu-Rays for gaming, or films. Especially at this level of the competition it would seperate their market even more than it already is with the ammount of different Xbox-360 SKUs that have been made availible. Something as crucial as a Hardware upgrade wouldn't be justifiable.

Besides, if everything I heard in a video game store was true, then Nintendo would be making games for SONY and Microsoft by now.

Wow!! I never before realised how little I cared that I could get a small graphics uprade at the cost of speed and usually gameplay

And that's a great reason to do anything. Listen to the public. They know best. hurr durr

I don't know and I don't care. Blu-ray is an embarrassing waste of time.

I doubt it. Blu-ray... it's not that revolutionary.
sorry but let's see a dvd do full 1080p, it can't do that on a standard dvd-9, also there's the storage aspect of it
Let's see the PS3 update a blu-ray game in under 30 minutes

Thats beena rumour for a long time. I doubt we'll see the 360 ever have Blu-Ray. Maybe in the next iteration of the Xbox but this gen? Doubt it.
