Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?

BOOBS, or breast as we like to call them, scares the FUCK out of people. So a local news station in New York has decided to protect us from them. Thank heavens for that. NSFW moment coming up...

http://metro.co.uk/2015/05/14/fox-news-blurred-out-the-breasts-on-a-115million-picasso-painting-for-some-reason-5196578/

Okay, seriously though. It's just a painting (It's worth £115 Million, Parasondox) that has oddly shaped people in it that isn't going to end society.

Is the naked human body that scary? Who is seriously going to complain about seeing breast in an art work? Who I tells ya, WHO?

I mean what next? Suing everyone in the world who is gay!?!?

What's your thoughts and opinions on the blurred out art... apart from it going for 115 mill because fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck me the rich know how to blow money without a second or first thought?

Is the fear of nudity that bad?

Should we just introduce more blood, gore and dead bodies in our day time news?

Is the "penis" the most scariest part of the body or the "breast" or even the all mighty vagina?

You decide... LIVE!!

Britain can be as bad as America on this regard, but personally I think it's just people being prudish. I reckon we will evetually get some sort of sensible level of acceptable nudity on daytime television. No harm in people seeing the groin of other people, it's just there could be a concern about showing full blown sex.

What's really getting me is that they're blaming Fox News for the blurring it, when on it was a over air broadcast station, not a cable network. The rules of the FCC actually require the blur in this case. Also blaming Fox News for a local affiliate news center is like blaming Intel because the computer didn't work for some other reason. Besides again the FCC requires this, no station wants to get fined for it.

Also the west in general considers nudity a taboo, it's probably not going to change any time soon either.

That's why I didn't mention Fox News cause it had nothing to do with them and just local news. As much as I dislike Fox News, I will not follow suit like other sites and blaming them. And your FCC blurs out art work like that? I thought the UK's Ofcom was bad.

Hey, this is no joking matter.

Rogue nipples are well known for their ability to warp the minds of impressionable youngsters.

Over the air female frontal nudity of any kind is not suitable for television, on cable they censor by company policy iirc.

I always wondered what would happen if on TV you covered female nipples with pictures of male nipples...

Which in the US the cable companies generally get swarmed by rabid busybodies for absolutely everything. So somebody screeches like banshee long enough and the "offending" content gets cut. That's how you get the infamous cable edits and bleeping the phrase "god damn" and only the "hole" part of "asshole". For a two year period, Turner stations had to bleep the word "Jesus" because someone got offended by a 10PM airing of Futurama.

And for nudity, THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

Gah! What a weird idea... Though I'd guess you'd still get in trouble, because the variation in size and shape of nipples is so large people probably wouldn't notice the difference. Especially not on television...

And, well, visible nipples... On a woman? That must be something obscene right? Never mind those aren't her actual nipples...

Actually, that makes me wonder, if you get a woman to wear one of those novelty T-shirts/aprons that have a life-size picture of a naked woman's body on them is that...? >_<

In other news grass is green, drinking water can help fight off the symptoms of thirst, SJWs rantings are still as inconsequential as ever and PewDiePie is the most annoying sapient being in the known universe second only to Fred. Dude (or dudette, which ever you prefer) did you really need to make a thread about this? It is self evident that it's stupid as hell but I've come to expect this level of stupid from Fox News so I'd normally snicker a little at it for being retarded and then I'd go back to making D&D maps for the campaign I'm running, which I should probably get back to now.

The motive of this thread was to have some fun away from, well, whatever is pissing off people over the internet.

I always wondered why male nipples are okay to show but female nipples are a big no no no protect the children. Funny because those children would have been breast fed right? That's how they work right?

Now that is a good question.
I'm now gonna go sit under a tree as I ponder this riddle for the ages.

Otherwise on topic, it's things like this that makes me miss living in France. Breasts and butts are freely displayed everywhere on adverts or on daytime tv, and no one really makes a big deal about it, making boobs pretty much demystified in comparison to anglo saxon countries.

Heck rather then blurr it out, maybe just digitally remove the nipples if that is the offending part of their anatomy?

How do you even tell which part is the boob on a Picasso painting?
Good question. I see a butt in the middle so someone will... erm... complain about it.

I was an art student and thus took many art history classes, and it's a well-known fact in the art world that for a very long time when artists were basically bound to their patrons or works commissioned by churches, they pushed things as far as possible in certain subjects to include as much gratuitousness as they could. Images of Adam and Eve and Samson and Delilah were very popular with artists because it was one of the few times they could show nude male and female forms. Sometimes they could squeeze a breast or two into Madonna and child images, but Adam and Eve is where they really went all out. And later for a lot of stuff made in Italy during the Renaissance it was accepted in angels and cherubs, as well.

The same thing happened in the early days of film. A lot of biblical epics were made from the earliest days in film, and a lot of them were either spectacles like the story of Moses, or stories focused on Adam and Eve and Samson and Delilah just so the filmmakers could get scantily clad and/or nude women in there. Since they were biblically based the moral crowd couldn't get onto them too much, but they still got their gratuitousness in there as well.

But yeah, the sexualization of female breasts is silly, and hiding them only raises the mystique. What about the female breast is so fundamentally different from the male breast that just SEEING it might suddenly make children know how sex works and that they want it. And the same with genitals, for that matter.

My penis is laughing on the inside... but, my mouth's laughing on the outside...

OT: But, what about the poor children who grew up looking at their mother's boobs whenever they were breastfeed in their own home? They should not be exposed to that kind of flesh on television! They should instead look at the male boobs, since they are less titillating to their young minds from a nudity perspective... Plus, they don't jiggle like female boobs do, so there's less of a hypnotic glance from the FCC prerogative, I think...

Also, [human] genitals are unsuitable for anyone under the age of sexual consent... So, thank Jim we blur that shit out on a equal basis!

...Wait, what was the question again?
