After my last encounter with snow during last xmas(I lived in teh UK), I pretty much hate it when it does snow!

Snow in New Jersey isn't terrible. The problem is it's been very frequent this year. We've had tons of snow fall at one time, but this year we're having a big storm like every week. It just annoys me because I can't ride my bike through the snow and my high school district is crazy. They keep calling off school and stuff like that which really messed up the midterm exam schedule. Other than minor annoyances, it could be way worse.

I live in California. I own 3 pairs of long pants and pretty much wear shorts year-round. At the temperatures you describe, I might just spontaneously cease to exist.

I'm positively baffled at the school closings recently in Connecticut. Apparently, the recent snowfall is some of the highest ever recorded for CT, and classes have been canceled way too much. It's not even that cold out. What makes it even worse is that my schedule is all in the middle of the week, so, with the closing last Thursday, I had a 5 day weekend and was bored to tears.

Seriously, Connecticut. Man up.

You are aware that at -50 Celsius you're probably risking frostbite on any exposed skin by going out to start your car, right? I'd say people have a right to complain when it's that cold.
That also happens to be the temperature my school closes at. Its been -45 a couple times with school going on as usual (and except for some fairly brief warm bits (warm being -10) it generally is -20 or lower as said before).

So for any of you cold weather lightweights, best stay away during the winter. :p

Wow... I mean, everything goes as normal here when it drops to -30, but -45? Wow... I would not want to have to go outside in that...

I live in Massachusetts, and I've had a storm every other day for the past two weeks, more than 70 inches of snow that I've had to clear from my 60 ft long circular driveway. I feel perfectly justified in complaining about the deep freeze that's buried my town.

Well it was more like -35-ish, but the windchill seems to to be jammed at "add -10". Seriously we've have a windchill of at least -7 for several weeks!

I live in Illinois, which i'm pretty sure is holding a contest for "most corn grown" with Kansas right now if that helps you gain its midwestness.

Right now I'm looking outside. All I see is white, literally just white, the snowfall is too heavy to see anything else. I think I have the right to complain a bit Wyoming boy.

I have no idea what it's like with the windchill. Damn iPhone weather app not telling me that...

In Norway we have similar temperatures, especially inland. I live by the sea though, so the temperature doesnt get in the -50 range, however -30 by the sea feels hell of a lot colder than -30 inland.

Um, I'm in North-Central Minnesota, and I haven't got any snow storm yet, Its actually like 20 degrees here, which is like hoodie weather for me. Um, I get your point though cuz EVERYONE here was complaining that we didn't get a "cold day" off of school because it was like -20 the night before. I mean, get over it, you live in Minnesota.

In Ohio it seems we are so mixed between being absolute pussies and being absolute bears when it comes to cold weather that it's hit and miss and spotty whatever policy or actions are taken.

Right now people are crying a bit about a little ice and it's 27 F so is that -1or -2 C?

I'm in Pittsburgh, but it's not so bad. So far we've had only a couple of days where it's been in the one-digits ( I mean, I think, I don't go outside much in winter). But I think there's supposed to be a storm coming.

And if we get another blizzard like last year, we are so screwed... Our damn tractors keep breaking, and I really don't want to have to try to shovel our long gravel driveway...
