I would love that but if you could not play as the Night Angel himself then it would be a hudge letdown and if you did then he would either be A:So overpowered to make it boring or B:underpowered and inoying because you are an immortal wizard assasin that other people can actualy kill, defeating the point of playing as the Night Angel.

OT: not sure it would work but an RPG based on The Dresden Files maybe? Big world, alot of lore to use and alot of different beings you could use for classes: shapeshifter, 4 differend kinds of vampire, farie(the bad ass kind), knight of the cross (holy warriors of god with magic swords), The fallen (humans umbuned wih the spirit of a fallen angel) and most importantly Wizards and warlocks (evil wizards).

And mortal I guess but the mortal world is just a playground for the magical and mortals are the magical beings bitches (even if they do not know it)

The Dresden Files.

Protagonist is a wizard in his late thirties. Plenty of Lore and background. Wizard council, evil wizard council, all kinds of different faeries. Complex Vampire society as well as 3 different types of Vampires. Conspiracies, plots, wars, love, relationships, - Ah fuck I have to read this series again!!!

What these two guys said. I've been reading the Dresden Files for the last year, just finishing Turn Coat, and wanting more. It really is the sort of thing that'd lend itself to a game if pulled off well.
Damn Ninja's!

The Inheritance Series. Pretty much similar to Skyrim with ancient words of power and chosen ones and all that.
That would work if they managed to make the story as good as it is in the books; which isn't great but better than skyrim's. Now if the made the story better, and less cliche, then it would be awesome.
this, in spite of its flaws, I loved the inheritance series, and I think it would make an awesome game

Anyways, I imagine that Game of Thrones could work, but only if it was a Crusader Kings style game.
I'll just leave this here. [http://citadel.prophpbb.com/post12229.html]

I can see the Malazan Book of the Fallen series being made into a Real Time Strategy game where you can choose between several different nations and races then make your own general/leader.

I've got one that people will love:

OT: I don't know, how about a team-based shooter set in George Orwells 1984? You start with 3 teams; Oceanian, Eastasian, and Eurasian. Oceania will be allied with one of the teams from the word "go", both working together to fight the opposing forces. Then, halfway through the match, the alliances switch around without telling you. What? You've always been at war with [insert country here]!
However, to make it fun (and to keep it from resembling Call of Duty), I'd desire gameplay akin to Quake III, just with a different (distinctly more dreadful) atmosphere. The weapons would also need to be fun to use and semi-futuristic. I want it to sync up with George Orwell's universe, but anything that PERFECTLY mirrors it would be very dull to play. One of the maps could be a Floating Fortress, and another could be in an abandoned Oceanian city.

Wow. Was going to say this because a lot of the powers sound like they could translate into game mechanics pretty well. I didn't realise they actually are making a game.
Awesome! *adds voice to the pleasebegood chant*

OT: I'd quite like to see an Iliad game in which you pick a Greek or Trojan hero, or maybe even a god, and then... I dunno, epic ancient-style fighting with just a flicker of the supernatural about it.
Otherwise, an actual Mogworld would be amazing.
The Iliad would make a great game. I mean, it's even set up to be one. There's a bunch of heroes with differing powers, and every so often one of them turns god mode on, starts glowing, and slays a bunch of dudes until his power up wears off. It's all there in the story already, justified and everything.

I want a good Game of thrones game and I want it to be elder scolls-ish. Like Open worldy and you can join whoever you want. I think that would be really awesome.

I'm going to say Sharpe because I really enjoy Sharpe. Also it's one of the few things where Sean Bean doesn't die.

Any Gaunt's Ghosts book... I wouldn't even mind a hash-up of multiple stories.

I don't think I need to put any justification into that answer, whatsoever! I mean it's got everything to be a decent 3PS.
I'd even like a Dawn of War 2-style game with permanent deaths.

I would love to see Starship Troopers turned into a game. Based off the book, not the movie. You can get rid of all the social commentary, just gimme a power-suit with some jump-jets, hand flamers, and shoulder nukes to go to town on some bugs and skinnies.
This. At least for now we have Japanese mech games :p.

I actually was thinking of a hunger games type game. Make it kind of like DayZ and have people pick their skills before the game begins. Trapping for hunting and trapping others. If you have no skill in archery you wouldn't have a crosshair for the bow and it would be wobbly, or if you have some skill it will be more stable and accurate. As the players die they can either help out other players they like as sponsors, or send traps to kill players they don't like.

I think that The Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix might make interesting games. There are plenty of opportunities for small battles as well as boss fights and maybe even some puzzles.

I'd love to see the Inheritance series in a game. Not one that follows the story though, no just with Dragon Riders and such. Fighting enemies on your special one a kind dragon who has this super intimate connection with you sounds awesome.

I would suggest trying some of the works of Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and Michael Crichton.

The Codex Alera series. Romans with elemental bender powers, 8 ft tall race of wolf people...and the Zerg.... to much badass potential.

Call of Cthulhu in a game similar to the Amnesia games. If not then pretty much anything by Lovecraft.

And yet we expect Dishonored to NOT make you overpowered?

I had to look up what Dishonored was but no I expect that it will make you overpowered.
