I did a Search before I posted this, though I may have missed a similar thread.

If you could have any book turned into a game, what book would it be, and which developer/company/etc would you have make the game?

I'd go for:
Sabriel, made by Bethesda, because that book done in a similar vain to Fallout 3/Oblivion would be awesome.
The Alchamist: Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flammel, made by Radical Entertainment, because a sandbox game could suit the book(s) with abit of tweaking.

The Bible- MMORTS

Play as a number of Prophets and Semi-Deities in order to continue your domination of the world. Start at Genesis, work your way through the old-testament characters, battling idolizers and gentiles etc with the wrath of God.

DLC- The Koran.

O NO I DIDN't!!!!111one

Twilight dating sim anyone?
Get out.

OT: One of Dan Abnett "Inquisitor" books may work. If not a FPS based around the Gaunt's Ghost series.

DUNE! Because it hasn't been done right yet. It should be an RPG.

Also, while I haven't read The Alchemist, a sandbox-style game where you get to run around and be all alchemical sounds awesome.

A John Carter of Mars game might be interesting. I would like to see a Magic the Gathering RPG with all the Planeswalkers from the books(and card game obviously), Bioware would be my first choice for developer.

I would actually rather have a book series turned into a game.
The Last Legion series would make a great...anything really.
It would make a great game, a decent movie, and an outstanding anime or TV show. At least I think so.

But games into books... not really any.
Once you've the interactive part through and through, a book about what you already did, or even related to it, sounds boring to me.
Then again, back when I was a Halo fanboy I did read all of those books.
So yeah, I don't know. I just can't think of any I guess.

Seriously, there is definitely game potential in some of the Magic the Gathering novels, especially The Brothers' War.

God damn! 10 posts in and already I find my thoughts mirrored. :p

Fine, while we're on the subject: I think something like the Eisenhorn novels made into a game would work particularly well as a KotOR-like RPG. Most of the time an Inquisitor is (in my opinion) essentially a sort of investigator who has to infiltrate every kind of social circle there is in order to get the right answers, with some minor scuffles along the way and a bombastic epic battle at the end of a case. Fits quite well with KotOR in style, right down to the party of people you drag around with you, seeing how Inquisitors tend to have a team of agents with different specialties working for them.

As soon as I saw this thread, the first thing I thought was...I wonder how long it'll take before someone mentions Twilight. NO!!!! NO FUCKING TWILIGHT!!!! I'd rather play a game based on a turtle pet care book. No redeeming value in Twilight. None whatsoever. Not to be offensive, but there's nothing redeeming in dating sims either. Those games are just creepy. It's like rapist training. Last thing we need are 13 year old twats getting vampire-themed rapist training. The only vampire game we should ever see again is Castlevania. No Twilight. NO!
