Ever have a book, movie or game that nobody you come across is familiar with it? What is it?

As for me, The Night Angel Trilogy, by Brent Weeks (a very good read)
Those books. Anyone else read them?
Those covers look cool, I need to go and check them.

OT:
Games: Beyond Good and Evil, Freedom Fighters and American McGee's Alice.

Movies (I'll post images from now on):

Books:

The Bartimaeus Trilogy is the best Trilogy I have read EVER!!!!!!!

The Silmarillion was a great book! I actaully ended up stealing it from my school library like six years ago(by accident of course) and i still have it and jsut finished reading it three days ago!

OT: It seems like nobody has read the "Transal Saga". It was a great book by Gary Paulson, my favourite book of all time.

Just thought of one. "Blood Meridian (or The Evening Redness)" by Cormac McCarthy. Thoroughly difficult and fucked up. Fantastic book.
You should all read it.

Yes, very good. Make an awesome trilogy. I thought of a screenplay while not working at work one day. It was a well spent day.

You'd lose that bet. I've read the Qur'an for my theology studies.
Tis a bet I'm glad to loose, good sir.
More people should read it, then maybe all this riduiculous, dim and ignorant hatred that people seem to feel towards the muslim religion might go away. I have only read parts of it myself and that was years ago, but it is still on my to-do list.
HOwever, when you have multi billion dollar industries that pray off others fear of that particular religion, it is no big surprise that few people have paid any attention to it (other than to insult it).

Probably one of the best fantasy authors ever P.C.Hodgell and almost no one has read her books, this is her current publishers website http://www.baen.com/author_catalog.asp?author=pchodgell

Also I have read the Qur'an because I like to know about religions even if none to happy with them. Honestly I don't understand how people make heads or tails of it. It is so much worse than the Bible in terms of sheer mind boggling contradictions. It also amuses me that so much of it is "borrowed" (read stolen) from both the old and new Testament. Also in regards to Islam and indeed all religions how many supposed sacred laws and customs have no basis in the religious texts of the faith and are instead based on rumour and conjecture.

Also regarding the poster above, The reason why most people have a problem with Islam is more to do with the fact that Islam has a tendency towards extremism because it is so intolerant of criticism and decent. You go to Israel and sit down in a cafe and you will here rabi's walk past and argue about the meaning of a passage of the Torah while near them Christians talk about the difference in each gospel. Where as you go to Saudi Arabia and you will be deported for praying in your hotel room alone if your not praying in Arabic...To question the status-quo of Islamic teachings is liable to get you branded a heretic which seems slightly medieval considering you might have been offering something worth listening to.

Childhood's End
I feel like saying this is very similar to naming Narnia in a topic like this, just not quite to the same degree.
From what I've experience, very few people actually read Arthur C Clarke out side of the Space Odyssey series. Just like with the other book, very few people read his books outside of the ones made into films.

Well, I said I would paint you something. Here you go.
I'm sorry for this btw, my mouse writing is terrible.

My best friend loves the silmirilian. It put me to sleep. This is a very important distiction because i have never fallen asleep reading anything else, not even textbooks. I read books i enjoy for more than 24 hours straight. I don't understand how so many people love that book.

OT: I feel like no one has read the Sword Of Truth series by terry goodkind. Great books, most immersive story i have ever read/seen/played, by far. My all time favorite series, and like no one has ever read it, as far as i can tell. The dragaeran(Vlad taltos) series by steven brust. Excellent series, the only person i've ever met who has read it was the one who suggested it to me. Vampire huntress series by L.A. Banks, Only person i know who has read it is one of my friend's girlfriend. Deltora quest series by Emily Rodda. Good story, poor writing, but hey, the story is immersive enough to kinda make up for that, i read it when i was like 12. And the alpha and omega series, by Patricia Briggs, haven't met anyone who read that.

For me it's not the excitement of the book that makes me love it. It's the depth of it you know? It's a whole other world in there. It's almost like reading a history textbook of Arda. Full of wars and stories of love and friendship. It's kind of like a book of short stories that all correspond to eachother. But I totally understand why people don't like it as much as I do.

That's what he says. But i only got through like, 17 pages, in three hours. It was deep yeah, but there was no immersion value for me, and worse i just saw the plot holes adn contradictions.

I don't know about plot holes but yeah I get that the value of immersion is different for some people than others.

Oh thank god, someone who played this as well as enjoyed it.

Its actually one of the best stories Ive gotten from a game, and Ive played quite a few but this one can compete with some good ones.

They are tiny, way smaller than most books. It's just that i'm so bored they jump out at me.

I've read those, and I heartily recommend them to anyone looking for a good read.

On-topic, Imperium Galactica II: Alliances. It's a Hungarian-made 4X game that, in retrospect, isn't really very good, but it has incredible nostalgia value for me. Even when it was relatively new, I never saw any multiplayer games going on.
