The Shining.

Yes, I know it's a movie already. Yes, I know it was good. It just didn't capture the feeling of insanity the book presented. The human mind develops horrors beyond our safety zone making it more horrifying than any movie if prodded in the correct manner, and if a movie just hands the horror to you in a set picture it's not nearly as scary.

The hunger game series and rangers apprentice series and the city series (city of bones etc). I dont think the movie industry could make great books like these into movies without stuffing it up.

oh and also the maximum ride series, its a amazing series and i can say that it can only be good for a book.

and also the wings, spells and enchanted books (i am a guy and i know this is a girl book but i like the series) and the movie industry is going to ruin it because i know they cant find the right actors for the characters, its too good to be a movie and the fact that the author sold the rights to the movie and the lead actor is going to be MILEY CYRUS .... she is one of the worst actors i can think of and she doesnt look anything like the character in the book. Bottom line most books cant be made into movies without screwing them up, and Miley cyrus cant sing let alone act.

I am sick of the Movie industry ruining good books just so they can get a few extra bucks

Greedy Bastards, there are only a few movies made out of books that were good, and i would have to look it up on the internet to find those few.

Stranger in a Strange Land

I can already imagine in my head the thousands of ways they could screw it up.

Any of RA Salvatores stories, especially the dark elf trilogy, and any of the Drizzt-centered stories. If the americans make it, they'll butcher it, and if any other country makes it america will whinge because an american wrote the story anyway...
