I would like to see Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series made into videogames. But I read an interview with him once, and he said that he wouldn't allow it. :(

The bible. That would be insane. You could play as Jesus, Moses, Joseph or even God himself. It would certainly appeal to mature gamers as it is the bloodiest book ever written. This book was made for a video game adaptation. Make this game!
this too

mate, i'd LOVE to see a good Wheel of Time RPG. i wouldn't mind they serialised it, as long as it was good. there's so much stuff in there you could do! even if you might consider it to be linear (given the way the storyline is you probably couldn't create your personalised character), right from the start you have characters like Lan, Moraine, Thom (skilled warrior[Warder], skilled 'mage'[Aes Sedai], Bard respectivly) and the Emonds' Fielders.

you have soldier training, magic training (The One Power), and you could change characters or perspectives given who is with you at that point in the story (according to the books), and which main character's story you are following.

if done well, i reckon that game could punch Oblivion in the face, and knock it out cold!

I would love to see the Nightside series by Simon R. Green as a game. Mostly because John Taylor is amazing.

"The Road" by Cormac McArthy
That's called Fallout 3.

The Simon Scarrow Eagle books could be good. But Ancient history seems to get a raw deal outside the PC. And even then it tends to get a fantasy make over.

Patrick Suskind's Perfume. It could have a peripheral whereby you smell your way through it's world, mixing perfumes and eating raw fish. It would be disgusting, but perhaps nintendo's next big idea. "Wii Smell"

Alice in Wonderland.

I haven't read it, it just seems like the sort of thing that could be really interesting as a game.
That one's been done. I think the most popular incarnation is this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_McGee%27s_Alice

Left 4 Dead 2: Waiting 4 Godot.

(Yes, I have used this joke before).

Pulling it off would be the single greatest achievement in the history of gaming.
That would be so epic.
Also, I'm a little bit worried for myself that I both got that joke and found it to be incredibly funny.

The most elaborate and fantastic fantasy universe ever: Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time'. It would make an amazing RPG.
