Forgive me if I missed a pre-existing thread, but I couldn't hold in my excitement for this game any longer.

After seeing all the notes on BL2 trickling around the internet, I got up the nerve to preorder it, something I must stress I rarely do.

Borderlands was a brilliant game despite the lack of polish in numerous areas (the AI and environs in particular), and I played through it some 8 times with various characters and buddies. The fact that the sequel is not only going to polish the low points of the first one, but expand upon and improve the rest of the game, has made me more excited for borderlands 2 than other game this year.

Alright, my gushing is over; if anyone else wants to share their thoughts on the sequel, good or bad, by all means.

EDIT: For those wondering, BL2 is confirmed as having a much more lenient mission structure in co-op (being full drop-in drop-out with minimal fuss), as well as having 4-player split-screen AND allowing split-screen parties to play online. The latter I'm not too fussed about, but 4-player is one of those things that dragged BL1 down by missing.

Looks awesome, and a lot more colourful to boot, which is always awesome.

I like the HUD effects too, like how the damage indicator will change depending on whether it's shield damage, health or elemental damage.

And from what I've seem, the variation in gun appearance has improved dramatically.

I liked the first Borderlands. I didn't play all of the DLC though (just Armory).

So far the information coming out for Borderlands 2 looks pretty good, and I could see myself picking it up when it comes out. I certainly wouldn't mind having another Co-Op game to play.

Borderlands 1 was one of the most bland, mindless, monotonous, empty games I somehow managed to complete. I equate the experience to eating an entire loaf of white bread. That techno girl looks interesting, but BL2 is going to have to do a whole lot more to get me interested again.

Borderlands was...okay...i wish theyd have made it more single player accesible because none of my friends on xbox had it :( also we would rarely be on at the same time and playing on my own just felt so boring after a while and im not a HUGE online gamer, so if 2 makes singleplayer more fun ill deffinitly get it, also though a few friends think it looks good, so i MAY infact get it!

Well, they've stripped out and changed the entire quest system, to give the game a more interesting storyline. But if you hated the first one that much, don't hold your breath.

Borderlands is my favorite futuristic-apocalypse-type game, and in my top 7 favorite games of all time.

Annnddd I'm getting the Ultimate Loot Chest edition of Borderlands 2. I think it will definitely be worth it, given what little gameplay I've seen and the prospect of there being even MORE types of guns.

I'm excited. Game of the year? For me, almost-definitely.

borderlands 2 is probably my most looked forward to game this year (of course pickings are slim this year). I am a sucker for cell shading-like graphics, plus the characters from the first game were hilarious (in particular the armory and claptrap DLC).

The first borderlands was one of my favorite games of all time, up there with the original portal and halflife 2.

that said im going to pin my hopes on it going on sale for steam's thanksgiving sale.

I've already pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition.

If any of the enemies are as interesting as Knoxx was, I'm gonna enjoy it. Also, this was pretty interesting to watch...

I can't wait for B2! Right now, my husband and I are playing our level 69 characters in Borderlands. We've maxed out the levels, played through the main game and dlc's at least once, and are now working on maxing our weapon proficiencies.

We're a little obssessed.

I don't have very much money, but I have Borderlands 2 preordered. If it's like the first one, I will be very, very happy :)

Will Borderlands 2 be online-only single player?
Most likely gonna be 4 player online co-op like the first game. Gotta find some decent people to play with.

As for regular SP, there's no way in hell they'd introduce an Always-On policy. Don't fx what aint broke.

I still play Borderlands 1. Frequently.
The sequel is going to aptly destroy my life.

Yeah I'm kind of excited.

Already pre-ordered that puppy and can't wait to go kill stuff for glorious glorious loot!

I loved the first one and I can't wait for the next one, even though I will be playing all by myself again.... But that means more loot for me! :D

Get you one!

Borderlands 1 had its moments but got way too repetitive so if Borderlands somehow fixes it then it will be on my watchlist.

Buuuuuuutt.... if my friend buys it and uses Xbox live more often then it would definitely be a buy.

Really excited for Borderlands 2, September can't come quickly enough.

I played through the original at least 5 times with my roommates. Really looking forward to the more colorful areas and the better designed split screen.

I loved Borderlands, a few little niggling issues aside. Because pretty much any game that still manages to have split-screen co-op gets extra marks in my book, hopefully they just fix the UI issue that the original had.

Either way, still looking forward to the second one, can't wait.

Didn't go for Torchlight, but Borderlands has become one of my favourite games ever - and like you said, Borderlands 2 is meant to fix all its low points. Particularly of interest to me, though, is how much they say they're putting into the PC version - which is also what Firaxis said about XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Perhaps 2K are finally becoming one of the few PC-friendly companies still in the business along with CD Projekt and Valve?
