I got a gold drop off Destroyer. Unfortunately, it was a phasewalk upgrade that I had already maxed
Not quite the same, since artifacts aren't generated according to the rarity system the way guns, shields, and class mods are. (Though shields and class mods don't go above purple rarity).

I was the guy on his playthrough, and cant think of much wrong with it tbh. only complaints ive heard are lack of enemy variety ( which was by ign, and kinda shows their journalistic abilty ).

playing in co-op was deffonately more fun, but your weapons and level tend to be much higher, so you can breeze through it...could ave hicked up the difficulty but good otherwise

I loved this game though the ending could have been better. :( I was really hoping to get lots of weapons.

Borderlands was fun, no question, but I had a huge problem with the ending. The game is primarily loot motivated, we're not here for story time, so having all your work for the greatest treasure ever ending up in a stupid tentacle monster and a crappy artifact I couldn't even use was a bit frustrating. There's supposed to be a big "pay out" at the end of a game, either in the form story resolution, a challenging dramatic boss fight, or awesome abilities/loot. Borderlands had none of those, so the ending left a bad taste in my mouth.

Everytime i saw a blue i murdered my way towards it, and not finding one after the end boss? unacceptable

I didn't mind the final boss battle, it wasn't spectacular but it had to do. When that monster did come out, the guy I was playing with went, "WTF!?" which made me laugh.

The ending was a massive crap in the face. I'm hoping the Zombie Island DLC can make up for it. Is it good?

I thought it was a good FPS/RPG combo.

That classes where balenced. (except Brick, he flat out sucks)

And the guns felt different, the story was disapointing but free-roaming co-op is fun.

Found the game to be utterly boring with a terribly unimaginative plot. Comparing it to Fallout 3 (an FPS-RPG that is actually good) is blasphemy.

Fallout 3 would beat the pants of it without all the clunk, clunk clunck!

as an rpg, twas great but as an fps, i feels all wrong...

I couldn't get into Fallout 3. Did the Power of the Atom mission, and really couldn't get into the game enough for it to warrant me playing it any further. Considering I borrowed it off Reaperman in exchange for Arkham Asylum (I WANT IT BACK SOON!!!), it didn't matter much that I finished it/played it. It really was an Oblivion copy, minus the swords, bows and arrows, and the Patrick Stewart cameo. I traded in Oblivion for a reason: I had too much going on to play it properly. Same would have been done with Fallout 3 if it was actually mine. In this case, I was playing Mass Effect (to prepare for Mass Effect 2) and Borderlands...and Assassin's Creed 2...and Left 4 Dead 2...but anyway, you're wrong, Borderlands was amazing. You just don't like your games to be fun.

Have to admit though, the VATS system was pretty awesome. And the Brotherhood of Steel armour just looked amazing.

The worst thing is, blues are rubbish, they're only the second rarity up, below purple and three shades of orange/yellow.

And yeah, it's quite possible to off the last boss and only get a green at best.

Last boss was a big let down for me... it was "ho hum, vault is really where they keep some generic end of the world boss... how shocking"

Honestly, I had the most trouble in the game with Bone Head. Mainly because you get the quest at level 6 or so, and he's level 11.

when i played in co-op my team mate told me the ending about 5 missions in and offended my religion several times. single player ftw.

I expected a good Eridian weapon at least. And the creature dropped some ammo, money and a standard shotgun. What a ripoff.

But I do agree that it was a good game. I only want some better loot from the final Überboss.

Me and my roomie had a blast with Borderlands. Admittably we were both slightly dissapointed with the last boss since getting to it was far more challenging then actually beating it. Tho we did complete zombie island before the main game ( dun dun dun ) when we got there we were abit too high level. But after that discovering the game starts anew with higher level enemies we were both delighted and are well on our way to completing it a second time.

I agree with few of the reviews focusing on the wrong aspects of the game. Complaints about story, uninspiring landscapes. It's all about the co-op and the loot.

And it just so happens my roomie and I have specialized in co-op and loot since we were 10 years old. Borderlands is a great game ^^

Agreed!
