Well halo is a really bad game to compare other FPS's to because they pretty much exclude any type of story in favor of just killing for the sake of killing. It seems that you are big into RPGs because of the story and you gotta remember that Borderlands is part RPG. While there is a lot of killing to satisfy FPS nerds there will be a story and point to everything. And with the different classes having different roles such as healing this will be an FPS that is new and refreshing. Don't expect this to be the normal FPS we have seen before.

Borderlands sounds like a game that has potential, it could be fun. But then again, it will most likely be one of these games that get really boring, really quick.

Honestly? I don't understand what all the hype is about this game, but I may just rent it, considering i'd prefer not to buy a game that none of my friends are getting. I would prefer not to compare this game to Fallout 3, either.

Some FPSs are great fun... Borderlands looks like it could be very enjoyable as it has a lot of nerdy numbers and stats to keep the brain ticking.

There must be one FPS you enjoyed?
I've played all three Halo's, Crysis, and a few others.

They all bored me to death.
Same weapons, same tactics, same objective.
All the time.

I'll stick to Dragon Age: Origins.
Now there's a game I'm getting excited about... looks really awesome. I love my good old fashioned fantasy RPGs.

Its funny, I just never get tired of the twitch/kill/reward feeling of gunning down little computer men in FPS's. I think it's something very primal. The mechanics of swivelling around with the two analogue sticks and then BLAM... I just find it endlessly satisfying.

I've even played sub par ones at times (like FarCry 2) to get my hunter caveman kill-fix. I don't mind that they're all the same because they all make me feel good.
