Funny i saw this thread, not 5 minutes ago i turned my Wii off after barely beating Holly Summers from No More Heroes. I ended with 1 smidgen of health like 1 dot, and i honestly thought id have to beat that ***** all over again and i clutch it in the last possible second.

Fun though.

Tachyon in Ratchet & Clank 6. Even with the best armor, he can kill you in 3-4 hits, and it takes pretty much every bullet from every gun in your inventory to kill him. I finished him with level 2 razor claws and 5 HP left. I think I woke my neighbor up.

Many a pokemon battle with the elite four. It may not count as a boss battle but i stumbling around the metro DC area in Fallout 3 and i came across super mutants fighting some enclave that had landed in a vertibird, they had a deathclaw with them and i wasn't a high enough level.

Grabbed a missle launcher and tried to pound the crap out of it and yeah got king hit by it, so i pulled out my shotgun as a last resot thinking i was going to die, fire wildly at its general area and when i opened my eyes the deathclaw was dead at my feet and i had maybe 10hp left

Any Unlimited character in Blazblue when fighting the AI. Not unbeatable, but damn if they don't make you work for it.

Bioshock 2 when you fight the two Big Sisters at the same time. I did it on Hard with Vita Chambers off and basically took to camping over by the first aid station for the last half of the second Big Sister's health. Still barely beat her.

on the one challenge mode in soul caliber 4 where you have to beat the apprentice and the one dude with darth vader to unlock the apprentice, took me two hours to beat. what happened is that (note I suck at fighting games) the first time I had the fight the apprentice he literally wrecked my shit and I got him one time on a double kill which I got the win for, and then he destroyed me and on the third match I could only take one more hit and he had most of his health he then jumped over me and fell off the map granting me victory. beat the other boss the exact same way.

Just now actually, Master Eraqus from Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. His attacks do some really hefty damage, and you need some damn good timing to dodge or block them. I was down to like 1/10th of my health, and I dash toward him, forgetting that my dash actually does damage, and it finished him. So. Relieved. And exhilarated as well.

I remember the first time I played Pokemon Silver...
I had taken out all of Lances pokemon except a Dragonite who had KO'd all of my team except a Xatu.
By some twist of fate, this Xatu's last Psybeam (or Psychic, or Psywave, can't remember) on the 'Nite and had made it confused. I was one hit from losing my last 'Mon and by some miracle the dragonite lost its last chunk of health by hurting itself.

And I wept.

Metriod Prime 2's very own Boost Guardian. That son of a ***** is easily one of the cheapest bosses I've played against. Your health is constantly being sapped, it can only be hurt in one of it's forms, had one form that's basically it flinging itself around the tiny ass arena, and the other form needs to be bombed a ludicrous amount of times. Also the only decent health pick-up's can only be gotten when it's Fling itself all over the place attack destroy's one of 4 pillars, which it doesn't do very often. when I finally beat it, I was near death and I knew it was pretty much all luck.

Most of the boss fights in Ninety-Nine Nights 2 were really tough especially the fight against those 3 big rock monsters when you're playing as Levv.

I'll say The Reaper from Persona 3. He was a pain in the ass. Beat him on my first try, but it was a close call.

Our first kill of Festergut 25m HC.

When he hits his enrage timer he explodes, and kills everyone in the room. The two healing paladins and me (rogue) could avoid that, and we managed to kill him 3 seconds into the enrage timer, with only one of the healers still standing.

Oh, and Brutallus of course. But I don't think anyone ever got a pre-patch first kill on him that was more than two seconds away from the enrage timer.

I beat Bayonetta with a fair amount of life left but it was the only time I was playing with a pair of jeans next to me with the seat facing up.

Besides that, I've never really played with pairs of pants lying next to me.
You just won the thread.

OT: I was playing Final Fantasy 4 on an emulator, fighting that sand-antlion thing. Just when I'm running really low on health and mana, boom! It keels over just seconds before it would've killed everyone in my party.

Every. Single. Boss. In Desktop Dungeons.

Seriously, pics or it didn't happen if you have more than half your health and/or a health potion.

(And while "more than half your health" sounds like a lot, realize that every boss averages at 2/3 of your health per hit.)

The very first time I fought Dullahan in Golden Sun: Lost Age. I still don't remember how I did it. Just that almost everyone died in the end and whoever I had left was barely alive.
