Ah, yes, the epic Rez, a very nice choice indeed!More Fun To Compute said:
Great track that builds tension and sets the atmosphere. Also by Coldcut who I listen to anyway. It's a shame that so many people only seem to remember area 5 and the fear track from this game, buncha nerds.
Oh the memories... Love it, but I like the 'Dark Messenger' theme before it (battling Trance Kuja) still a bit better.bodyklok said:First thing that comes to mind, I'm sure I've heard better ones but hell if I know what they're called.
It's kinda poor to begin with, but it gets going just a bit over a minute in.
Music has always been under-appreciated in every form of media except the music industry (and even then...). A good song does not necessarily make a good game, but have you noticed that almost every gaming classic has a great beat somewhere in there, be it soundtrack, original score, or MIDI loop? Music, in my eyes, is essential to making a great game (as opposed to just a good one). Boss battles absolutely most especially.RaveRaze said:Boss Music isn't just there to sound nice while you shoot the giant alien filling your screen. Its there to set an atmosphere of the battle, bring an sense of epicness as you fight your final battle, keep you fighting for whatever reason you are. Without good music in the background any boss battle just becomes forgettable, Hell I wouldn't even remember the ending to Super Paper Mario if it wasn't for the Ultimate Show. So yes discuss the importance of boss music to bringing a satisfying conclusion.
as did i lol.HonorableChairman said:I half-expected this thread to be about music that can be described as "boss."
