You think she's freaky, weird and the thing is in very poor taste?

Have a look at how people, well, internet bot agents have responded to that one photo going around.

She lost her job, she shut down her social networking accounts and people are terrorizing her parents, issuing death threats to the whole family.

I agree that her costume choice was in poor taste. It still made me chuckle a bit. The internet folks response did not amuse me in the least. If a gamer teen gets in prison for a crappy one-liner, I want to see everyone involved in going after the girl on the chair and in the chamber. Hang'em high.

Thank god I'll forget about this story in 2 days and never think about it again, as will everyone else.

Where I live, one of the news reports tried to make it into a local interest story by pointing out that the Joker was played by Australia's own Heath Ledger.

Some peoples' more compass need retuning.
My favourite was the America Cup of sailing, when the news basically went with "Since half of them are Australian it's pretty much us winning anyway".

OT: If it was a shitty costume I would have said they're being a prick. But it was well-done enough that an insensitive bastard like myself appreciates it.

I find it weird that Halloween costumes are supposed to be "funny" nowadays.

Whatever happened to Halloween being a holiday that celebrated fear and the things that make us afraid? People dress up like serial killers, murderous psychopaths, and monsters and that's fine, but dressing up as something that's truly scary crosses the line?

Devils and ghosts scare children, why can't adults have more adult costumes about what scares them? Why do people have to dress up as some kind of pretend evil when there's real evil in the world?
I agree with you. I've often thought the best halloween costume to be nowadays is a guy in a trenchcoat with a nerf gun. Ya know, the real world things that actually horrify us. I'm terribly afraid mass killers, I get anxiety over it. I don't like to leave me house, ectera. Everytime I head into New York City i'm afraid of a terrorist attack.

That said, I don't think this is the case with this individual. I think she's just being a lousy **** being completely insensitive to the bombing victims.

It be one thing to dress up as one of the bombers. They're complete monsters, and they're scary because they're human. To dress up like the victim while rocking at a kegger? you only do that because you think you're being clever, not because you're making social commentary.

Is anyone really afraid of anonymous death threats anymore? Everytime something like this happens, the victim is always "Oh I'm getting death threats"

Unless the people issuing the death threats are motherfucking Al Qaeda, they're almost always empty threats. I think we've yet to hear one person actually being murdered over stuff like this, unless one considers suicide murder now a days which is just retarded.

Alright, fair point.

Then again it seems that death threats, even if not coming from Al-Qaeda, tend to ruin the day for a lot of people receiving them.

I'd never do such a thing. I would just resort to statistics and hope that cancer will solve the problem for me.

Well, not always, but over something like this, probably empty words, yeah, but that's a long way from death threats being ok.

Not much to say other than it's very distasteful and a huge slap in the face to the family members of ones lost during that bombing. But she is free to wear whatever she wants and trying to issue death threats to her makes you no better than the terrorists.

Just call her an asshole and ignore her.

That's the thing with death threats, they're a joke until someone actually means it and has the means to carry it out.

Remember that stabbing that happened because of an argument over Xbox Live? Two guys got into an argument, one guy told the other he was going to kill him and the guy told him to bring it on, so the first guy found where that guy lived and stabbed him twenty some-odd times.

It's crazy, but it happens.
