Mad World

http://www.gamestop.com/wii/games/madworld/71454 $2.99 at Gamestop used. Average user review 9.2

It is a very gory black comedy of a game where you're on sort of a Death Race 2000 gameshow on foot with a chain saw. Your Wiimote buzzes like a chain saw when used.

Only buy this if you like your JRPGs strictly crap in gameplay, crap in story, and crap in just about every other way.

Hate to be "that guy", but why not just get a Wii-U?
At this point in the Wii's life it seems kind of pointless to get one.

But as for suggestions, No More Heroes is a pretty fun action hack+slashy game, and the second one seems pretty good too.
If you're looking for a decent turn based strategy there's Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Very fun, very challenging.

Oooh, and if you can find it, Resident Evil 4 for the Wii is probably the best version of it. Wii-mote works well for aiming and it has all the unlockables, and... well, it's Resident Evil fucking 4. What more do you want?
In the UK you can pick up a used Wii for about £30 as apposed to £250 minimum for a Wii-U.

On topic ,I wasn't aware RE4 was on Wii? Now I'm tempted...

I'll try to mention some that may not have been already:

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. This game is just different. Technically flawed a bit, but it's so beautiful in its story and aesthetics that it's really easy to ignore that. Has a somewhat depressing, survival-horror feel.

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor: Next to House of the Dead Overkill, the best rail shooter I've ever played. Oh yeah, and House of the Dead is totally worth it too.

Arc Rise Fantasia is totally solid if you're into JRPGs and Xenoblade is $150 or something crazy.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade: The exact game that we hoped we would be playing these days back when all we had was the SNES. Beautiful in every way.

I'm going to assume you've heard No More Heroes, but I have to throw it out there anyway. I've heard good things about Pandora's Tower, but we don't have it here in the US yet. Looking over it all, the Wii had an alright library after all...

Mario Galaxy 1/2 are vital - you won't see a prettier Wii game than those.

Mario Party as well, that is a lot of fun, even if it can be frustrating.

Madworld is quite novel - if you see that going cheap then it's probably worth a shot, a strange game but one that I find myself playing more often than most Wii titles.

Monopoly. Just because it's more convenient than Monopoly, it's a pretty good version and allows custom rules.

Pikmin is good as well if you like a challenge. I know some people might dismiss it as some sort of kiddies game, it's not, it's bloody difficult and takes real strategy and determination to play properly. I found both Pikmin games very interesting, nostalgic too the way you find bits of broken NES controller and stuff.

Harvest Moon, Wonderful Life. That's on the GameCube, but it's the best farming simulator ever made, it's deeper and more entertaining than it's kiddie appearance lets on. Hell, I'm not even sure if I played that game the right way, but I played it for ages anyway - sitting fishing at night, tending crops and breeding animals, trying to remember to go to the shop. It's like a little microcosm where nothing much happens, but nothing much has to happen really, that game is more about finding out what sort of person you are than anything else. I don't play these sorts of games usually, I hate the 2D harvest moons, but this one is a work of art.

And Resident Evil 4 - now that is if you haven't already got it on another platform, it's another vital game, whether you play it on GC, PC, PS3, or whatever, everyone should play through RE4.

And also Lego Indiana Jones... not to play, but to 'allow' you to get the most from your Wii.

has anyone yet recommended Silent Hill: Shattered Memories ? its a highly underrated gem that every owner of a Wii needs to play. the graphics are something you wouldnt believe the Wii is capable of and the story , gameplay and music all are top notch. it also has multiple endings and has a great replay value.

DON'T get monster hunter tri. With MH3U for the WiiU and 3DS servers coming up within a month, capcom decided that the Tri servers will close on april 30th. You just won't be able to get your worth out of the game anymore.

The offline game is interesting enough, and a good way to get familiar with the series and the weapons, but you will likely spend 30 hours on it max, depending on your skill. You could buy it for 5 bucks later perhaps.
i always wondered, i plated tri in offline only and while i loved the game i found it fairly brutal in it's difficulty and a bit on the grindy side. i would often have to invest hours farming stuff just so i could fight 1 dino which if i was lucky i could beat with a few seconds left on the clock. to this day i still have a couple of quests left that i can't beat with the best combination of weapons and armor i could get.
did the multiplayer make it easier?
Well, it mostly depends on your fellow hunters. Early on, you might encounter a lot of terrible players, or even be one yourself. But once you get to high rank (you basically start over the questing tiers with more powerful equipment, but it's generally harder), you need to have better skills than required for the offline part. With a good team, preferably people you actually know, you can bring down monsters a lot quicker though. A lot of the skill you need will come to you if you simply play through the ranks, but you do need both reflexes, some planning, and a general understanding of what you are doing. With time, the offline monsters will seem like a greatly nerfed version of their online counterparts

With only a month to go, you really need to have a love for the game and a lot of spare time to make good use of the online-only content. If you want to enjoy monster hunter online, get a 3DS or a WiiU and wait some 20 days.

I'll put up the Wii games I have just as a point of reference:

Donkey Kong Country Returns (if you liked the SNES games you want this one)
Kirby's Epic Yarn (it's fun)
The Last Story (It's not bad...if you like JRPG's it may be worth it to you)
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (I have a lot of issues controlling this one...)
Super Mario Galaxy (you have Galaxy 2 right? This may still be worth it to you)
Super Smash Bros Brawl (I believe you said you have this too)
Xenoblade Chronicles (Much better than Last Story)
Zack & Wiki (An adorable point-and-click adventure. Cheap too, more people should play it)

Keep in mind that the Wii is backwards compatible with the Gamecube so don't forget about GC games like Wind Waker, the GC version of Twilight Princess, Luigi's Mansion, SSB-Melee, etc.

I guess I'll throw in my 2 cents here.

No more heroes 1 and 2 (as everyone has already said) are both awesome.
The metroid prime trilogy is worth getting, as already stated.
Red Steel 2 (NOT RED STEEL ONE) will get the best use out of the wii mote plus and it's fricking awesome to boot.

Aside from that I think everyone else has said all that needs saying. Hell these have been repeated.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Last Story
Xenoblade Chronicles
Resident Evil 4
Metroid Prime Trilogy

That's about all I've got. I couldn't play most of those because I didn't keep my Wii long. Although now that I think about it, they're all available to me now that I have a Wii U. =[]

Get Okami and have the best time of your life. Seriously, that one game validated my Wii's existence. The drawing is a little wonky, but you get used to it. Just make the strokes fast as you can, because slow strokes don't recognize as well as you'd hope.
I can't justify getting that one because of the combat waggle controls.
If you though twilight princess was waggle controls... oh boy.
The ps2 version is still the best you can get.
Well, your loss. I had zero issues with either game's waggles. I suppose if you've played the PS2 version then you aren't missing out on anything because you still played Okami.

There is a series in the store called LostWinds you should maybe try.

The Bit. Trip titles are in the store and World of Goo is a pretty good game.

Excite Truck is an absurd and very fun racing game if you have people to play with (in person). You win by getting the most stars. I think you get like 30 for winning a race, but then you can get stars for sweet jumps and doing tricks and slides or by going really fast without running into a tree. There's a sequel where all the cars are transformers or something that I never played, but it was supposed to be good too. Otherwise, Monster Hunter as long as you have a classic controller.
