If a child of 14 attacks their own parent, for any reason, when they've lived with their whole life with that parent, then the parent has done something very wrong at some point when raising that child and I feel no sympathy for them.

It could be he had little other choice. Stabbing her in the right place is guaranteed to not kill her, but if she got in an automobile drunk, she could have very easily killed a child, another motorist, or an entire family on the road even mere blocks from their house, before police would arrive to try to find the car and its license plate number.

You can't reason or rationalize with a drunk person, especially a self-centered one that wouldn't even listen if sober.

Stabbing is safer than bludgeoning or anesthetizing with drugs too, maybe next time he should get a tazer; but since he probably didn't have one, a shallow cut with a disinfected blade would certainly get across the point.
You sir have made the bast case for this kid. Who i am looking at as a hero for knowing his mom could hurt someone and stoped it. I just hope the mothers condishion doesn't get worse or he would be in alot of trouble.
I'm with these guys. I'm guessing most of this is because it was a knife and she had to go to the hospital. What would have happened if he just tackled her or maybe took her leg out?
Well he is just a kid. There is alot of hight and whight diffrence to go with that. She can p overpower him.

That kid wins. She isn't dead, and isn't drunk driving. Everyone wins! Except for the hero, of course, he gets probation. Maybe some jail time & community service to apologize for how awesome he is.

Eh. Taking good intentions a bit too far, I'd say. Still, she could have killed herself and a lot of people.

Considering that she was about to get on the road with alcohol in her system, a knife in her back is probably one of the lesser injuries she could have sustained that night. The kid really did protect some people.

I want to know what he was really thinking, he probably did NOT have his heart in the right place. Maybe he was worried about the car.

"I should have known this was coming when I had to a C-Section to birth him," said rattled mom.

Well, not really, but that would be awesome.

His heart was in the right place I'm just not sure his reaction was 100% a good idea. On the bright side though she will never try to drink and drive again.

How many levels did that kid put into his throwing skill? Damn it, I can never get a throwing knife (that is a knife designed to throw, not a knife designed to slice or chop tings in a kitchen)to hit the target with the point. However, I once stuck a throwing knife into a a solid wooden target by the pummel....

Imagine a world where cars dont open for people with certain levels of alchohol in their systems xD

also a world where all car glass is bullet proof, would prevent so many shootings and thefts
As long as we're wishing for the impossible I want a pony,a pretty dress,I wanna be a princess and I wanna an IV full of a potent mixture of a crack and caffeine hooked into my bloodstream for all of eternity.

Well, the kid's only 14. From a legal (and if i know my friends, realistic) standpoint, he is not mature enough to make the decision we deem correct. plus, he's under a lot of stress. Let's see: Stress + immaturity = Not the best course of action. I certainly don't support this action, but i certainly can see the line (in the loosest sense possible) of thought this kid took.
Where did you grow up? The 50s? 14 year olds know thier shit now, they know what the fuck they're doing, they're just idiots.
Okay fine, get thrown into the same situation: Your mother is going off drunk and is forcing you to go along. No matter what you do, she refuses to comply. Both of you are in a kitchen. You are panicking. No cheating-what is first thing you think up of?

And about the knife throw, he's a kid. how many teenagers that age know the physics behind throwing objects? Did he know how to properly throw the knife? I sure as hell don't. And i'm 16.

I would put this into Pokemon terms, but I don't feel like it.
Allow me:

MOTHER uses JOHNNY WALKER
MOTHER has evolved into DRUNK MOTHER!
A wild CONCERNED SON appears!
CONCERNED SON uses THIEF!
DRUNK MOTHER's STICKY HOLD prevents item theft.
DRUNK MOTHER flees!
CONCERNED SON uses KNIFE THROW!
It's super effective!
DRUNK MOTHER fainted!
