It's the age old argument between anti and pro gaming factions. If someone is killed and they were found to have played a game, the anti gamers blame the game, whereas the gaming crowd argue that if someone is willing to kill then they had the capacity to do it anyway, and the game was not at fault.

Totally different. This is direct influence. I'm not saying it corrupted their tiny minds, I'm just saying they saw something they thought was funny on T.V and decided to piss around and act like dicks. They probably weren't raised to believe that everything on T.V is acceptable to imitate, in fact I can't envisage that being the case. They probably just watch the show a hell of a lot and think that they can be just as funny/cool.

The issue isn't that people got hurt, it's that kids that are just barely adolescents are getting access to things that they are obviously not mature enough to watch. If they were, they'd take it as a joke and not actually go beat upon some poor kids who did absolutely nothing wrong.
